"Located in Brooklyn Heights, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division's Second Department is absolutely stunning, particularly from an architectural standpoint. I recently visited for a New York Bar Association swearing in ceremony, and it was so lovely!! The security staff at the front were so kind & efficient. The ceremony itself, which was held in the courtroom, was great. The court officers did a really nice job facilitating the event. Most importantly, the judges who presided over the ceremony made it such a memorable experience for the new attorneys and their loved ones who were in attendance."
"I'm a Putnam county NY resident who has been Fighting to get my voice heard on a bogus pull over by a NYS Trooper on a cell phone issue but was holding a cup of coffee. I was told by the court to get the Court Transcript and an Affidavit of Errors. Obtained both, spent alot of money to do so and then they deny your appeal, silent your voice. I continue to fight in , now with the Attorney Generals office. The Trooper, judge and prosecutor on the case were all friends on social media . Talk about Bias taking place, and the court won't hear the case. Make you spend money, time and told no. Fraud all the way. I will continue to fight on, including having the Media involved . Shameful."
"New Chief Justice Scheinkman presided over a terrible decision for me in the Appellate Division. It seems that all he cares about is the administration and timeliness, and not the administration of justice. He was brought on to his current position with a mandate to speed up the caseload in the appellate division, but that has resulted in a recent batch of terrible decisions, particularly when it comes to foreclosures. He is afraid or overly deferential to "prestige" law firms. Governor Cuomo, I urge you to find someone new to run the Appellate Division. This man is arrogant and does not care about the little guy in foreclosures. Fox guarding the biggest hen house in town. Maybe faster, but definitely not better. For example, can we get some clear cut decision as to RPAL 1303 and 1304 in foreclosures? They are all over the place. Faster than his predecessors, I'm sure. He's very proud of that from his recent press releases. Not the man for the job."
"The staff here is the kindest & most professional of any Court staff that I've met. Problems with a bank have made me go to several Courts over the past few years, and the people here are truly the best. They can't tell you if you will win or lose, but they do offer professional, courteous assistance, they have never been nasty in the way some places have been, and always seem willing to help whenever they can. They should be commended."
