"I have never felt so disrespected and insulted in my life. My mother and I went to choose my father's gravestone. While there, we went into the office to ask them if after 6 months they could maybe plant some grass seed on the dirt mound that is my father. The woman was beyond rude, didn't listen, and when I politely tried to correct that we were not asking for his stone to be raised (he didn't have one yet), she said, "I'm talking!" We also asked them to replant a tree that had overlooked our family's plot for 4 generations at OUR expense. We are willing to pay for the tree and it's planting. The rude woman said, "ugh, that's work for our groundskeepers, so..." and then a voice (I imagine her boss) yelled from another room that planting a tree might create roots that disturb other graves. That entire area is MY family's graves. No one in this room was familiar with the area. And the unprofessionalism of yelling from another room and not even coming out to speak to us like human beings combined with this woman's attitude was insane to me; my mother was in tears the entire ride home and still today. If I was at a Starbucks and someone spoke to me in this woman's tone, I would leave. This is a cemetery. Our family has four generations of people buried there. I cannot use the language that accurately describes the "service" we received in the office of Hollywood Cemetary. If your ancestors did not buy plots there, do NOT buy them now. They don't mow, tend to graves, and charge outrageous fees for things they don't do. And they have zero respect, compassion, or politeness. My parents were married for 60 years. Listening to her cry on the way home from that cemetary because of their rudeness and disregard for her husband's grave absolutely broke my heart. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS. Edit: I also find it suspicious that all of the five-star reviews for this cemetery have no comments or vague ones attached. That's a clear sign of getting your friends and family to offset the horrible truth of your business."
"DO NOT let anyone working in the office try to intimidate you or take advantage of your grief. Take the time you need, to make the best financial decision for you, your loved one(s) and your family. Some of the workers here are very pushy and rude. I would not recommend them to anyone I know."
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to do this one so that people don't feel stressed while they are already dealing with the loss of a loved one. Management is very unorganized here. Customer service essentially ends once the balance is paid. First they hook you, then they toss you. In my case, they lost the original agreement (contract) for my mother's prepaid mausoleum, so I had to provide them a copy from my deceased mother's records at home. How does that even happen? Very unprofessional. Then, they lost the order for the crypt that I placed the week she was buried! So my mom has been buried there for months now with no name or date on her crypt. I only found out after visiting her grave. When I called, they gave me a few different stories and tried to blame me. After I called various times, they finally conceded, and I was given the run around (by Paula and Ann) that they were going to speak to the VP about fixing the issue or any type of renumeration for the troubles but no one ever called me back. Save yourself the hassle and pay a little more somewhere else if you have to because the staff/management is not worth dealing with. You are going to be stressed out while you grieve and with then, you're going to have to babysit/constantly check if things are going right."
"Saturday April 29th I attended a burial in support of my dearest friend. His father passed away. That devastating experience was made far worse by Hollywood Cemetery. This establishment continuously tried to take advantage of a grief stricken client. Premium pricing was paid to send his father off with the utmost care and respect. However, the day of the burial they didn't honor services that were paid for. It was understood that it would be raining the day of the burial. Thus, causing my friend to pay for the service of chairs and a tent being provided by Hollywood Cemetery. Yet, upon arrival neither were available to protect the grieving party from the elements. In addition, the main office was closed knowing a burial was scheduled. When the office was called to confirm the time of the burial they said it would take place hours later which was completely inaccurate. Lastly, a discount was to be given to the family for already having a loved one buried there. Knowing this family already had someone dear buried there in November just months ago, they have been unwilling to apply the discount. This establishment has an egregious way of conducting business. I have contacted a lawyer so my friend can take necessary legal action if they don't at very least refund for services they did not provide."
"Beautiful place??? Many of my family members are laid to rest there. Yes grass is well maintained BUT many flat headstones are rarely edged and often grass over takes it. Not uncommon to see people bringing weed trimmers and flat shovels to trim yourself. I’ve brought this to the office staff several times and get poor excuses from it’s too much to keep up with or COVID-19. The response is call in the spring and fall and they’ll clean it up !! Also seen many veterans graves completely covered and I guess if nobody complains they don’t notice?? This to me is unacceptable!!"
