"Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable representative and service agents. If you have read ALL requirements prior to coming, followed their instructions and listen to what you are told, you submit your documents withing a few seconds and get them back quickly and efficiently. The problem is that people just walk-in without even bothering to visit the website of the NYS DOS, and familiarize themself with the NYS state requirements with a respect o an apostille of license renewal. Then, they get frustrated and leave those irrelevant feedback, just like they do for our business."
"Walk-ins are available, it's $10 per document for Apostille. The employees are chill and move at the speed in which documents are given. Somedays are slower than others but it's because there's lot of people coming around the same time. I recommend people coming in early to just get it done and go, but most people come around 11-12 from their lunch, DON'T do that if you don't have the time to wait. The employees are friendly if you got everything in order: the document notarized and authenticated, a cover letter and check money order or debit/credit. It's not as bad as some reviews might make it seem."
"Tried to contact the state impossible. There is never anyone at the desk to answer the phones. Worse government agency. The director should be fired. Terrible agency ran by incompetence morons."
"Scam Warning: If you are going to apply for a Change of Registered agent application, DOS requires you to fax only and pay for expedited fee of $55. I faxed the initial application and they told me there was something wrong with it and to make changes and then I will have to refax and pay $55.00 again. I made corrections and followed their instructions on how to fill out the form. For a third time, I was instructed to refax and pay again for something that one of their employees did which was incorrectly enter the wrong Agent’s name in their system. The “The LLC” is not the name that I had provided on the form. When I called to let them know, they said sorry you have to fax and pay again to change it. Before this I even had a lady who was nonchalant and laughed when I called them out for their egregious process. The agent I signed up for told me they have the same complaints from numerous customers about the DOS application swindling. It is a waste of time and money. Go through your Agency and pay the fee which could run you approx $80 and they will do it online and you’ll avoid the unnecessary stress, interactions with robots or what feels like a catch 22 situation."
"There are two employees at the front desk who are very helpful and patient. One is especially able to repeat the same information over and over with the same calmness as if it were the first time. Of course he must do that, but he does it well and he has a good memory for people who go regularly like me, but not daily. Who knew that it could be a pleasure going to the Office of the Secretary of State."
