About the Business
Welcome to the Hare Krishna Temple, a serene and sacred place of worship located at 25 1st Avenue, Manhattan, New York. As a prominent Hindu temple in the heart of the city, we are dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and community through the teachings of Bhakti and self-realization.
Our temple is a sanctuary for those seeking divine blessings and spiritual enlightenment through the practice of Vedic rites, known as samskars. These ancient rituals and rites of passage are designed to guide individuals at every stage of life, helping to develop a deeper connection with the self and the divine.
The Bhakti Center, affiliated with our temple, offers the services of qualified priests to perform these sacred samskars. For more information or to request a samskar, please reach out to us at [email protected].

"Hare Krishna! 06/24/2024 Always a pleasure going back to the temple, and again a wonderful darshan & experience with the devotees! 09/28/2023 I was welcomed and treated really well by the devotee receptionist & staff. The temple was really peaceful and loved all the portraits of Krishna all around. Chanting beads are available for devotees, which is great! And there’s a temple lounge with a library which has books for reading & to purchase. Really comfortable environment to read spiritual books to look inwards. Also, there are Bhakti, yoga & other classes available, along with a store that’s open on specific days in the evenings. Overall, enjoyed my visit and felt really spiritual by the time I stepped out. Would totally recommend to go visit :)"
"I highly recommend to go to this Iskoon temple whenever you’re feel free."
"Amazing Place in the center of Manhattan on 1st Avenue. This is a 6-story building, it’s as comfortable as home, you can quietly go to Yoga and meditate, in a noisy metropolis, where everyone is constantly Running somewhere - This is New York. Honest Review of Backti Centr. 1. Here you can eat delicious Prasad (Vegetarian food). 2. Go to Yoga. 3. Meditate on the 3rd floor. 4. Read books in a cozy Library. 5. Sing Mantra-Kirtan, Mantra-Meditation on Tuesdays 7:30 P.M. and Thursdays 7:00-9:00 P.M. 6. Visit the clothing and accessories store on the 3rd floor. 7. Find new acquaintances, and maybe even Love. 8. On Sunday there are free Seminars and lectures at 9:00-11:00 am. 9. On Wednesday, I go to lectures on family relations. Backti Center has become my second home. I am very happy that I came to this place 1 year ago. There are people here with open hearts and good intentions. I feel comfortable and warm here. Thanks for such a cool experience. I thank the universe that there is such a place in New York. Sincerely, Alexander."

"I went all the way from 105th street. Reached at 4:20,since the place was to open at 4:00. Stood outside for 15 minutes, tried calling on the number online. Got tired of standing in the cold and came back disappointed."
