"The location is perfect! Just a short walk to the ferry. Also, the surrounding neighborhood is very safe to walk around even at night with a lot of eateries nearby. Alex was awesome! We had a great time. Just a heads up to download a trucking path app because RVβs are prohibited to enter in certain areas."
"I really wanted to stay here.. I booked a reservation for Oct 27- Nov 4 back in Oct 2023 for the NYC marathon week. I made a $ 380.59 deposit. I got an email on July 2 stating that the city is shutting them down. I have emailed three times and gotten auto responses. I called the number and spoke to the Camp Host who said he couldn't help since he is only in charge of the camp ground. It has been nine days since this email and no refund as stated was going to happen in the email on July 2!!! Don't book anything here..I have contacted NYC 311 to file a complaint to maybe get some assistance in getting my $ 380.59 deposit back. I made this deposit so long ago that my credit card company says they can't dispute this charge so I am hoping that Skyline will come through with being an honest company and issue my refund so I can make some other plans. I really wanted to stay here but now I feel like I am being SCAMMED. Don't give them your money"
"I'm hesitant to leave a poor review because I'm not sure our experience is common, but it wasn't great. The great parts: The location is every bit as wonderful as advertised. It is breathtaking, especially at night. The restrooms and showers are clean and working. The neighborhood around it is incredibly lovely. We fell in love with Brooklyn there. Great places to eat nearby and great access to transportation. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Alex, the camp host. You will not meet a better guy and he takes his job seriously. We were so grateful for him considering our problems. So, our family of five weaved through the streets of New York towing a camper only to find we couldn't park anywhere. Long story short, we booked our 2 night stay in June back in January. We had printed the email receipt thankfully so we had proof, but they had leased out the entire space to someone else. Multiple calls to their number were never answered and never returned. We honestly did not know what we were going to do. In swoops Alex to save the day. I think the management is the issue, especially since they never returned our calls and clearly did not book things correctly. I would not say don't stay here. I would say, print your email receipt, call at least two weeks before you stay to double check, and request the number for the camp host in case you run into problems. The only other considerations should be 1) The parking is tight - this is New York City. I would double check space if you have slide outs. 2) It is in New York City - it is not quiet by any stretch so just be aware of that difference from a typical site."
"Had a great time during the 4 days we recently stayed. Alex, the camphost, reached out to us several days before our reservation to solidify our plans. Much appreciate. Alex also is a wealth of knowledge about the neighborhood, transit, and restaurants. Very conveniently located near the ferry and excellent views of Manhattan. The drive in is apparently no longer in business bit the site itself, while barren, is clean and safe. There is an unusual tank dumping situation but nothing too complicated. The one bathroom/shower is small but clean."
"We stayed at Skyline RV Campground this past weekend with our small RV. My boyfriend and I live upstate and were attending a party in Brooklyn. In lieu of spending $300-$400 on a mediocre hotel room in the area, we decided to book Skyline and try it out. The lot felt secure and the views were incredible. On a Saturday night, there were maybe 15-20 RVs parked, so it was very quiet. The online booking was smooth, and there really wasn't a check-in process other than a few text exchanges with the camp host. The lot is in a cool, safe neighborhood, which is close to many other great neighborhoods. For $65 (no-hook ups), this booking was very worth it. My one piece of constructive criticism is that one bathroom for the campground (that wasn't really well stocked/cleaned well) is not ideal. This issue was most prevalent in the morning. If your RV can do water/electric hookups, I would suggest doing that for the $120 price option. All in all, we would definitely return."
