"A wonderful place in Greenwich Village. Caring, generous staff and volunteers prepare meals every Saturday for those who choose to come."
"I recently discovered this incredible church which is radically inclusive and very welcoming. I attended services both online and in-person and both experiences were completely joyful and uplifting. Highly recommend to everyone and anyone interested in attending such a service."
"They welcome the folks doing the Reclaim Pride March, myself among them, and let me tell you, these people are wonderful. I got a little sick from the heat and they were so kind, made sure I got water, made sure I sat and could use the bathroom, gave me a clean dry mask, and checked in on me while I rested, amazing people and a gorgeous building."
"Following is in regards to the Soup Kitchen operation conducted Saturdays at 12 Noon. When the front doors open you enter the church, sign in up front, take a number, sit down and wait for it to be called in groups of ten. When called you proceed two flights down (the church and kitchen are wheelchair accessible via side door and elevator on East 13th Street side) deposit your numbered ticket in a basket, pick up a tray and plastic utensils and proceed through the serving line where several piping hot entrees may be chosen along with a number of appetizers, salads, deserts and finally beverages. Seating is ample in a cheerful brightly-lit gymnasium well-attended by helpful staff. I can think of nothing that would improve on this joyful experience."
"Every time you walk into Church of the Village you are greeted by some of the most wonderful and grateful church member volunteers. For me it never felt like I was a number. From day one when Pastor Vicki greeted me by the door, I always felt as if I were a part of the church. This was around 5 years ago. The atmosphere and personal inclusion to make you a part of the church family is still strong at this church."
