"I love this little park/playground. It is an oasis in this barren neighborhood. I love the diversity among people who enjoy exercising and strolling, and kids rollerblading and playing. I am glad that the "punching bag" boxer and the "throwing shuriken" ninja teenager bullies are gone from this park. Here are a few more things I have noticed. There are some folks openly drinking beer and smoking weeds especially during the weekend. If you see it, please report them to the police. Many adults work out in the small areas where the monkey gym and sit-up equipment are. Please parents, take your kids to the kid's section. Why do you assume the monkey gym is only for kids? If you do, you have never heard of Calisthenics exercise, look it up. That area is not a parent's gathering place, walk a few more steps and find the "real" playground and help your children socialize with other kids. You may have one kid, but you have no idea how many little ones stop by and dangle their bodies during my 10-15 minute workout. It is a playground for everyone, not just for your kids. For that reason, the park management should move the monkey gym to the kid's section and facilitate the areas with pull-up bars and parallel bars to create a real workout environment. Please make it happen. Please please do not ride bicycles in the running track. Smaller bicycles/tricycles are okay, but there are some teenagers ride big ones. Bike paths are all over the place outside. Why would you come to this tiny/narrow running track and try to run over people? I know that's not your intention, but that is how I see it."
"I love this area! When I say it’s my peaceful place I mean just that!"
"This used to be my childhood playground. It is much different now. The rubber floor mats are very worn and can be slippery. My kids couldn't run as fast as he wanted to on it. This park has a public pool that was not yet operational when I went in mid June."
"I work near the area and was very pleased to find this little park where I can just come here to walk for a bit. I can't wait for spring/summer to come here to eat my lunch or just walk"
"Not all that impressive, but hey, when you’re getting some fresh air after living couped up in one of these surrounding matchbox Woodside apartments with a bong-smoking room mate, this small parklet must seem like Yosemite National Reserve! Little confusing that this place is also identified as Lawrence Virgilio park, but he was probably the area’s city councilman who grafted this park into existence."
