About the Business
Welcome to St. James Episcopal Church, a vibrant and welcoming place of worship located at 84-07 Broadway, Queens, New York. As a proud member of The Episcopal Church, St. James is dedicated to fostering a loving, liberating, and life-giving community where everyone is invited to explore their faith and deepen their relationship with God, each other, and the world around us.
At St. James, we are committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of children and their beloved communities through engaging discipleship resources. Our programs are inspired by the teachings of the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, who emphasizes the importance of learning on the Way of Love. We invite you to watch all of season 1 of our discipleship series and join us as we prepare to launch season 2 in the coming weeks.
Our mission, aligned with The Episcopal Church's core values, seeks to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We are passionate about evangelism, racial reconciliation, and creation care, and these priorities guide our ministries and outreach efforts. To learn more about our specific ministries and how you can get involved, please explore the resources available on our website.
St. James also recognizes the importance of civic engagement. We encourage our community to actively participate in the democratic process, not just during election season but as a continuous practice of responsible citizenship. Join the Office of Government Relations for weekly conversations about policies and legislation, held every Thursday from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, and engage with racial justice leaders on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss pressing issues and share best practices.
We warmly invite you to join us at St. James Episcopal Church, where faith, community, and action come together to create a more just and compassionate world.

Reviews
"Is this church even open? There are no Mass times listed. And the website just takes you to a overview ofte Episcopalian Church. I called, no one answered and there was no message machine. This is not a way to advertise a church."
"We were lucky to take a food tour with Joe DiStefano on a Saturday when this Indonesian market was open! This only happens once each month during the summer months only? Some of the vendors come here from Philadelphia! (There is an authentic Cambodian market at FDR park in Philly every Saturday!!). The Indonesian Food Bazaar has a facebook page - check it out for more information on this HIDDEN GEM!"
"Fine example of a mid-century church and parish Hall"
"Beautiful, peaceful, God-fearing church that is open to all to visit. It’s also open for prayer during the weekday, which I really appreciate. The architecture reminds me of a wooden ship. Very nice."
"Not sure much about the church itself but the monthly Indonesian food bazaar’s held here are an amazing experience that transport you to another place! Super friendly vendors serving up homemade dishes at reasonable prices. Only danger is you might be tempted to eat too much!"
