"Customer service is non existent. Trying to wire money out and the “document compliance department” cannot be contacted directly, nor can internal customer service contact them. They just deny requests with arbitrary reasons. Look at their BBB ratings before investing"

"The absolute worst! I've been waiting 3 months for a 401k account transfer. Every time I call, it's the same, exact, scripted response. Obviousy a planned, systematic run around. It's also been impossible to escalate the situation because apparently all E Trade managers are in the same 7x24x365 meeting. Horrific!"

"Made a deposit to the account I've used for +20 years to buy some stock. Was set up in the 1990's by my mother while I was a minor. After accepting the funds, I'm now told because it's a custodial account I can't trade or transfer money out or close the account I have to open a new account or have my mother close it. The account wasn't frozen to incoming deposits, but now I can't access my own money. It took them +20 years to figure out I turned 18. Closing my account as soon as possible."

"They blocked my account for suspicious activity. I’ve been trying to get someone for four days, can’t reach anyone on phone, offices close and the web chat unavailable. Finally reached someone and they are asking for the make and model of my computer to verify my identity. I have never heard of anything like that, I was at work so obviously couldn’t verify that so I’m still waiting. I’ve been on hold for over two hours and still waiting! All other banks verify your identity with phone number, voice, email, address social security or verify with information on credit report not E*TRADE!! I can’t wait to clear it up so I can close account and move on"
