Reviews
"The premier setting to see the best in original illustration art ranging from comic books and graphic novels, movie posters and album covers to advertising and editorial cartoons, and so much more!"
"The title of this “museum” is misleading. There is no comic book art or cartoons. You pay $15 and there are only two floors of artwork. The 3rd floor is a bar and the 4th floor is only available to staff. A waste of money and time."
"I read the other reviews upon coming to the museum and was a bit hesitant. As I result, I didn't buy tickets in advance. When I arrived, I was greeted by a wonderful staff member who described the museum and what I was in. There weren't a lot of people in the museum, which gave a silent library vibe. I started from the basement and worked my way up the floors as I took in the art. The basement has a side room that displayed video animations. I enjoyed seeing the Animations done by other creators and thought it was a great display of their work. On the flip side, I think this could have been put in an open space because other customers had to stand at the side if they didn't want to go in the side room to watch with me. Other than the animations, as other reviewers mentioned, it's really art on walls in a medium small space. While other art museums have "art on walls," this one felt a bit lifeless. Since it is a smaller space, I think it could benefit from light ambiance music to enhance the viewing experience. As I made my way up the floors, I didn't see anything that stood out or that blew me away. Just an art piece here or there that would raise an eye brow. I do want to mention that I am not an art critic. By the time that I made it to the top floor with the bar, I didn't feel encouraged to stay for a drink to take in more art, I felt like I wanted to depart. Overall, I can appreciate the art piece in the museum, but I think with a bit more strategic placement of art pieces, and some light background music, I feel like that would entice more patrons to the museum. I will also mention that I went on a day where there wasn't an event, but that should make the experience like a letdown. I will say for the price, it's not terrible for a date for two. This museum is OK and worth it to experience for yourself but questionable for the second viewing."
"Incredible display of diverse comic art from various genres/times. Save the cafe on 3rd floor for last."
"I’m not sure what the negative reviews are for, as others have said - I think some might not realize there are 4 floors here (despite the sign that says this upon entry). I was greeted by a very friendly staff member, and was intrigued by the first two floors - which offer mostly comic exhibits (a lot of Marvel and DC) ranging from early 20th century through today. The third floor housed a lot of other interesting art and illustration that mostly hovered around early 20th century. Some haunting, beautiful images. The fourth floor has a lovely gem of a bistro (also adorned with artwork), and if I had the time I would’ve loved to stay and eat there. Overall, this a cool, quick spot to take in some illustration art!"
