"Wanted International Shipping - not urgent, small book. Line up, called to desk agent. "Oh, you'll need to put that in something. The envelopes are behind you out on the floor." I.e., I can't help until you have an envelope already in-hand. Go away and line-up again! I obtain every kind of envelope I can, esp the flat rate ones. Land on the same agent. I specify I want International Priority Flat Rate ~$40 or so. Agent lists the services available on the screen, where I see the ~$40 service. Next screen appears showing $68. I ask what happened the ~$40 service, and she raises her voice "That's what the computer is telling me, Sir!" I ask her to go back to the five services listed, which she does, and I insist I want the ~$40 service. She then turns around and takes the Flat Rate envelope off her shelf and puts the item in the envelope - I guess they DID have the needed envelope at the counter! Then the Customs Declaration needs to be filled out. Do you think they have a pen to offer you? Of course not! "I don't have a spare pen." This was after asking another agent who shrugged their shoulders and suggested "Maybe there's some pens out on the floor." Yea, really likely and helpful. Some good Samaritan offered me a pen to fill-in the Declaration. I hand it to the agent. "You need to sign it, Sir." This was after I had returned the pen, so I simply reach in and take her pen off her keyboard (again, wasn't on offer to help me). I cannot immediately see where to sign - one would think form designers tend to have signature boxes at the bottom of the form - not at USPS; two thirds down the right side, essentially in the middle. Agent keeps saying the same thing "In the gray area, Sir!" Doesn't modify or enhance these instructions as I struggle to locate the signature box. Once I see it, I exclaim, "Oh, on the RIGHT side." To which she replies "Well, you have to read it, Sir!" Nice attitude! Eventually, got through the whole miserable transaction with such a grumpy unprofessional unhelpful waste of space. This is why FedEx & UPS have a business - they are not rude and unhelpful when you arrive seeking to ship something. No pens, unhelpful instructions, awful & hostile attitude, bogus up-selling, and sending me away to get an envelope, when she knew there were envelopes behind her; what a See You Next Tuesday. Norma's the agent name, and a proud "work-to-rule" unhelpful disgrace to the USPS and all its other employees! Agents appear to be dying to find something unprepared about you, so they can send you away, rather than finding helpful solutions for CUSTOMERS!"
"Today’ Date May 31st 2024 Time: 4:25 p.m I usually rave about this specific post office I work in the area and go there all the time , I love the convenience of how early they open, the customer service and there is never usually a line. Well today I went in to return a package to Thomas sitting at window 11 and he was great as always very knowledgable returned my package in like 2 seconds !!!! He’s great . Then i started to make my way out when i had a question for the woman sitting at the passport window . I went up to her and instantly she said “NO ! Dont Ask Me No Questions !!” . I couldnt believe she spoke to me that way , ive never experience anything like this here before. P.s its so hard to get a job working for USPS and look who they pick miserable people with no manners. Its cost nothing to be nice . The photo is the passport lady . Stay away"
"Horrible attitude from the dark skin/heavyset passport lady. Unprofessional and poor customer service. I showed up early to my appointment and she treated me like I was inconveniencing her. Then she told me I was on her time, refused to let me explain my situation, and then told me to get behind yellow line and wait. I dont mind the wait, but 100% have a problem with this lady's unpleasant and unnecessarily aggressive attitude. Learn to listen and treat customers with respect. Customer service matters!"
"Thank you so much to Ms. Rodriguez who helped me send out our wedding invitations! Your support was above and beyond -- our wedding guests love the hand cancelling stamp from the Grand Central Post Office! Your support made our invites extra special. Thank you also for going out of your way to find the new $0.92 stamps -- it really means so much :)"
"Everyone there is willing to help and are all very knowledgeable of their procedures. Please forgive them they are exhausted and Pretty please do your research online before even bother going in. Everything is available on travel.state.gov if you are going there for passport. The people in this passport department are really nice and were extremely helpful. Especially Maureen and the other gentleman in grey. My sister and I both did our passport renewal here. I saw other people dropping off packages at a very fast electronic system right near a drop off box. There are many transactions going on at once; the lines move very quickly but also get packed really fast. All the pricing is posted very clearly throughout. The building is beautiful, this is a prime location. Enter at the front, middle of the block because there are other things inside I think @450 Lex."
