"The Uptown outpost of the fabled Zwirner Gallery. I loved the current show of early works by Ed Reinhardt (1913-1967). These works from the 1940s predate his more famous later black abstract paintings."
"34E69 NYC A small gallery in a beautiful space. Eight drawings/paintings by Hilda af Klint, Swedish (today, 11/14/2021) . It was small but satisfying."
"It was a great experience. Friendly staff and beautiful exhibitions. So glad galleries in Manhattan are still showcasing remarkable artworks in such intimate atmosphere. Congratulations on the Ruth Asawa show."
"Yes, 34 East 69th.. just push open the taller of the black doors underneath the flag and walk down a few stairs. The gallery space is essentially two rooms on the second floor, so expect smaller and more intimate shows here. They also have much larger location in Chelsea. As such, make sure you’ve paired the right show with the right address."
"If you're a huge fan of Yayoi Kusama, this location will allow you to view her works with lots of breathing room. The downside is that this is a VERY small portion of the exhibition. Unequally split between the W 19th Street gallery, there are only two viewing rooms at E 69th. One only has 4 paintings. They are large with a carefully executed chain-mail effect. Personally I like them very much. A couple will definitely wind up in my phone wallpaper rotation along with Keith Haring and Emily Pwerle. The gallery itself has the prerequisite white walls and high ceilings in an elegant old townhouse. The exhibit is on the second level. I totally forgot to take a picture of the spiral staircase! Someone do that for me please. There's a frightfully small elevator in a closet if you need the accessibility. I dread going down to the W 19th Street gallery honestly. This may be all I get to see. :("
