About the Business
Welcome to St. Paul the Apostle Church, a historic and vibrant place of worship located at 405 West 59th Street in the heart of Manhattan, New York. As the original parish of the Paulist Fathers, America’s first order of Catholic priests, our church stands as a beacon of faith, community, and cultural enrichment.
At St. Paul the Apostle Church, we offer a wide array of outreach ministries designed to engage and support our diverse community. Our Apostolist group provides a dynamic space for young adults in their 20s and 30s to connect and grow in faith. We are proud to host Out at St. Paul, a dedicated ministry that embraces and supports the Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Trans, and Queer community. Additionally, our arts and literary groups, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Mustard Seed Guild work tirelessly to uplift and assist those in need, both locally and globally.
For those unable to join us in person, we are thrilled to introduce Virtch Church, our innovative online outreach program. Through Virtch Church, you can explore the stunning 19th-century art and architecture of our sacred space from anywhere in the world.
Whether you are a local resident, a visitor, or joining us online, we invite you to find a spiritual home with us at St. Paul’s NYC. Discover how faith and culture intersect in our welcoming community, and let us become a cherished part of your spiritual journey. We look forward to welcoming you to our church and into our vibrant community.

"SO INCREDIBLY SAD THAT THE WOKE TRANS IDEOLOGY HAS INFILTRATED THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. This is a beautiful church where you can feel the Holy Spirit. At 5pm mass, the person serving communion was a trans, a man pretending to be a woman. Compassion for the mentally ill isn't condoning and pretending their mental illness is normal. So sad that the consecrated body and blood of our Lord God is being defiled by the WOKE IDEOLOGY. Gay and Lesbian is preference but trans is mental illness. Pretending is not normal, healthy or Catholic."
"The peace you can feel been there is amazing, I definitely will be there again. Also the have mass in Spanish every Sunday at 12:30pm. Wonderful"
"The most beautiful church I've seen In a long time!!! Absolutely breathtaking architecture on the inside. Wonderful views and statues. Paintings and stain glass windows. Anyone can appreciate the beauty. Came for señor de los milagros. A peruvian saintday festival and had a great time. It's great to just come in and sit and close your eyes for a break. I used to go to fordham across the street and just pop by for a breather. Have fond memories. There's no bathroom though which they could do."
"I visited St. Paul's Apostle Church to attend the "Addition/Subtraction" art exhibit. The artshow will run through Feb. 2024 - free admission. The exhibit features an ecclectic group of artists. This is the first time I have visited the church. The beautiful architecture has lancet windows and ecclesiastical artwork throughout. A quiet atmosphere for reflection. The church is an easy block's walk to Columbus Circle for shopping and a bite after yor visit."
"A beautiful church in NYC. I was in town for a tradeshow and got a chance to attend the daily mass at 12.10 pm during the season of Lent. A nice convenient time. A great way to nourish the soul."
