Reviews
"I work with a local contractor and visit the building department regularly. The process could be a bit less rigorous but the staff is very nice and helpful. They've taken the time to help on several occasions in getting the permits submitted properly."
"This town doesn't allow businesses so their residents have to use everyone else's services. Worst police in the area by far, constantly harassing people who are on their way to better places like Bloomfield and Montclair. I would boycott anything here if there was a reason to go here but there isn't!"
"The receptionist is impatient and quite nasty. The younger one is nice but the older one is quick to raise her voice. If it your first time dealing with any type of work being done to your house that requires a permit, be careful and make sure you know exactly what is being done so you don’t get yelled at. Building departments are usually like this but it’s still unpleasant."
"Great Building Dept. Customer service."
"Wish I could give NO stars. Usually when you call a building department, the receptionists are nice (customer service is #1 priority), but in this case they should look for a new receptionist because it is a crime to call for an inspection evidently. Give respect when you are on the phone, if not, then you will not receive respect back. Goodluck contacting them, they NEVER answer!"
