Reviews
"The park is beautiful. The area is not. At 149th and St. Ann's there are springs that the younger kids enjoy as it isn't as full as where the playground sprinklers on 146th street are. My kids spend hours running around in the springs then on hot days we walk to the playground as they dry. There it is very crowded but they start off with the swings and then slides. I have them avoid that sprinkler as there are so many children and the water tends to pool up. Bathroom is decent for a park bathroom. If you just want to enjoy the outdoors the pathway to walk has big rocks and grass and is pretty peaceful. They have a nice basketball court and there is also the new Serena/Venus tennis courts. At 143rd street there is another playground, this one has both big and little swings and slides. Doesn't seem as updated as the other park but usually younger kids hang at this one. It is less busy. There is a rec center that i have yet to join and a beautiful track at 143rd as well."
"Accessible from all entry directions into St. Mary's Park. Also, near 2 and 5 trains to northwest of the park and 6 train on southeast of park. Nice restaurants a few blocks from the park. Big play for younger children in the south side of the park. Big field in southeast part for baseball."
"I wish was more clean and no people with drugs around kids"
"A lovely little park. It's beautiful at sunset. Looks like it has some problems with people on drugs but seems safe to me as regular police patrols. The park is under going improvements so its good to see the bough trying to improve the area. Also a police station is almost finished construction on its boundary. The park has several sport areas for football and running."
"A nice quiet and clean park! Needed to take a business call and found this park perfect! It was quiet, had nice new benches and just enough foot traffic that it isolated the noise of the city and they thought I was home. So that was a huge plus. The park was super clean, has an amphitheater, baseball field, playground! It’s such a nice place and def worth taking a rest in! Check it out and listen to the birds and admire the little purple flowers they have coming up. A gem in the Bronx!"
