As your local government office, we proudly serve the diverse and vibrant communities of Soundview-Bruckner, Soundview-Clason Point, Castle Hill-Unionport, Harding Park, Parkchester, and Westchester Square.

Our district is represented by Amanda Farías, a dedicated public servant and lifelong Bronxite. Born and raised in Soundview, Amanda is a second-generation Afro-Latina of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent. Her journey in public service began in the very community she calls home. A product of local schools and community institutions, Amanda attended P.S. 69X, Holy Cross School, and spent her formative years at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. She is a proud graduate of Preston High School and St. John’s University, where she earned both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Government and Politics.

Currently serving her second term as the Council Member for District 18, Amanda was first elected in 2021 and re-elected in November 2023. In January 2024, she was appointed as the Majority Leader of the City Council by Speaker Adrienne E. Adams, marking a historic moment as the first Latina to hold this position. Her leadership signifies a new era for New York City as it marks the first time all top leadership roles in the City Council are held by women, all of whom are women of color.
