"The NYC DOH is rejecting background checks for teachers who would like to work in a different school until they are off the previous schools payroll. I was told by a worker that this is happening to a lot of teachers. For an entity that polices the NYC DOE, they should be aware of how teachers are paid. Teachers are paid a ten month salary over 12 months. Teachers although on the payroll of the previous school, are not paid for July and August. That money has been spread out from the ten months they have worked. This is never a good reason to deny a background check. If Schools do not have teachers starting in September 2024 and there is a delay, because I was told it could take up to 45 days to complete a background check, this is why. We are being told it's because we are on the previous schools payroll. We could be out of work for a month and a half collecting unemployment instead of working because of them. Someone needs to do something about this nonsense. It seems new incompetent people are now responsible for background checks as this has never happened before."
"When you call 311 to report extensive mold to the department of buildings and 311 tells you that unless you’re in a house they will not test it called pix 11 , channel 2 , 5 and 12 your media outlets really don’t care until someone dies."
"Had covid testing at the 168st nyc health center. Quick same day results. I would recommend if you can get the appointment."
"I guess I am not disabled enough using a walker outdoors and a cane indoors to qualify for a home visit from an Agency such as the Department of Health? Got a phone call from a 'Gloria' advising of someone contacting me, etc. which did happen but, so far, no homebound visit for me from your Agency?"
"Harrassment of people with disabilities for the New York City Handicap Parking Permit is unacceptable."
