"My cousin has created somewhat of an Utopian type of garden, stage, gazebo n more with his bare hands! He especially has put in extremely hard work into this garden for the community to enjoy. My cousin, family and friends have given huge celebrations and parties for the community and serve food, drinks even had entertainment, all out of our pockets for the community! My cousin along with the help of others have also tried numerous times to make sure the community enjoyed all festivities, especially for the kids. Vegetable and fruit planting festivals asking that people volunteer to help for a couple of hours. We only asked that people donate no more than their time, energy and helpful hands to lend for the benefit of the community. After everything he's done and tried to do for the community, some still aren't satisfied. Everyone can't be satisfied. Now that it's this amazingly, beautiful place in the center of the South Bronx; people become selfish and now want to use it for their personal use and don't want to dish out what it takes to come out of your pockets and donate to the community. Nobody complained when it was just a plot of unkept, un-fenced city land full of crack vials, glass, cement, aerosol cans, dirty diapers, used intravenous needles, trash, filth, rocks dirt, dust, plaster and anything else that you may find in a septic tank. I want to commend my Cousin as well as those who helped, donated time and money for the College Avenue Garden. Thanks for all of their hard work and what they did for and tried to do more for that community. Thank you!"
"The Community haven't been able to enjoy this Garden in over 6 years. You HAVE TO PAY $250 to $300 AN HOUR. That Garden is for the Highest Bidder and NOT for the Community. SHAME ON THE MAN WHO HOLD THE KEYS TO THE GARDEN"
"Update: I was there recently and beautiful improvements have been made. The lights at night make it very cozy and romantic. I can see the results of your work. Thanks Diane for the pots for my plants!! The place needs some improvement but it is a very nice neighborhood park (apprently maintained by volunteers). Smitty was super kind helping me with a gardening question I had."
