"ACCES-VR placed me in a training program, I obtained certification, and was hired on by a company that presented their recruiting services to our class. That job lasted about two and a half years. I went on unemployment, was hired on by the city, then was let go when my vendor attempted to enforce a non-compete due to the city's attempt to convert me to a full time employee. I returned to ACCES-VR. It was difficult to get traction the second time, but once I did, man, it was a great experience. I worked with Nicole. We sat in her office for about two hours (her next appointment never showed) talking about anything and everything education and career related. I felt like she opened the world up for me. Every concern I had just melted away. Car fare, interview clothing, training, tuition, books, referrals to and funding for employment placement specialists. Every single thing I could think to ask was answered with such an encouraging answer. Up until this point, I felt like the world was inherently flawed in regards to education and employment, but hearing what Nicole had to say restored my faith in humanity, upped my quality of life, and gave me so much hope for the future. I feel like New York State would like everyone to be a value contributing member of society, living their best life. ACCES-VR is an incredible organization. If you feel hopeless and despondent in regards to education and employment due to a disability, definitely get into contact with ACCES-VR. it may take a bit of time, but it's so worth it!"
"acces-vr in the Bronx. My advice go online there better and professional programs that do help and take responsibility. My advice go online there other programs available right now that provide the best communication I found and good luck on your journey rehabilitation disability back to work."
"Staff is awesome. My counselor Ms. Nadia is best counselor you would ever want. So dedicated, motivated to help me to pursue my goals."
"Case Managers never pick up their phones and barely answer emails for these special students. The only thing they can offer is Maintenance in other boroughs far out and anyone can apply for those jobs. They also don't have any help with trainings or Schools in the Bronx. They say the waiting list is years long. I've read the bad comments and they are not wrong. If you're a teacher who works with High School Special students, Do not send your students here to suffer."
"Anyone posting more than a star on this place are lying for this place. I got discharged without notice. They now want me to do the whole process over and won't be on time for Fall semester. Now I only have 3 classes left to obtain my diploma and now that won't be happening. It's bad enough They screwed me over for my first semester where I am still paying off my student loan, now this. Now I have to drop school and not be able to graduate. Thank you Access-VR! The workers here (all the workers) are unprofessional, incompetent, lazy, and rude. That's the government for you! These people will waste your time and give you different information. If you apply with them just be ready for the lack of communication, wait time and help."
