Reviews
"A mere shadow of its former self, now withered down to a few small shelves of books on mainly modernist artists. Although the other many books still are in stock, they're in a warehouse for online ordering only. Staff is pleasant but the place is tiny and browsing experience is just not the same. Still worth a visit if art book stores are your thing"
"A must go if you are into artbooks"
"Amazing bookstore in the heart of the Upper East Side!"
"This used to be one of my favorite New York City used art bookstore that was my "go to" place. Their new location however is not wheelchair accessible. You must go down 4 to 5 steep stairs to get in. The doorman said he was all by himself and was reluctant to help. Then someone that works in the store came out and offered help, but its just not practical to be carried down stairs backwards if your in a wheelchair. While I could just buy online via their website and catalog I still like to browse artist monographs the old fashioned way. Too bad, because I was ready to drop several thousand dollars today. I'll just take my $$$ to the rare book floor at the Strand where Cathy bends over backwards and knows my collecting and acquisition priorities. You get a lot less attitude and are treated more compassionately at the Strand."
