"The place where everyone is miserable and no one wants to help you. Our tax dollars go to these people’s bank accounts yet we can’t get any help. It’s a shame!"
"All the ladies in the office were very helpful and explanatory to how things worked. They even got me everything I needed the same day. Fastest DEP visit ever."
"I went to this office about three times during covid. It was a process. Sign in. Get a number wait to be called. I was always able to get my questions answered in person or over the phone. In person I was able to get my plans stamped and copied. Were they super nice and friendly like Disney employees? No. They were serious, helpful and to the point. I had no issues here. My entire renovation process was a mess but the department of buildings was never the issue."
"Just like every business ran by government, over budget, and under performed. What I can't get over years after years of dealing with this city why their customer service individuals are so poorly trained in customer service. Attitude in customer service should be none existence. If public calls, it's because they have an issue and it should be resolved or directed toward that goal. There are handful of individuals who work in DOB who are very helpful, and will solve your problem. In order to get there, you may get couple of grey hair on your head though. 0 star, and who ever gave DOB more than 0 star is because they were lost looking for DEP and DOB helped them find it on 5th floor. lol"
"It could be better, they only had one clerk serving the general public today. I mean we shouldn't expect this from the city but it's something am getting a custom too. I really don't expect anything much more, if not something is another. I go there expecting something will always go wrong. It's either the printer is broken or there is no paper or the computer is not working or it's an issue with the clerks or methodology. Anyway hopefully something will change someday."
