"there are still caves, but the Indians, unfortunately, have been gone for a very long time…"
"One of the coolest things on Manhattan. I had been in the city for 10 days and feeling a disconnect from nature, visiting the caves fixed this. The bushland is truly beautiful! I hidden gem in such a wonderful city."
"Imagine- Native Americans were able to find their way home without placards and paved trails and tourist brochures! This site is a few steps uphill off the main path but not hard to find. Just walk as close as you can on the Google Maps trail, go a bit south and you'll see an uphill wooded trail along a stretch of the paved path lined with drainage stones."
"Great little trek through Inwood Park grounds. Venture off the trails to see some interesting rock and Indian Caves. Lots to see if you're the exploring type. Otherwise, a beautiful place to catch your morning exercise or for a leisurely stroll."
"What a wonderful place to just relax, unwind and.enjoy some incredible nature and scenery. There are a lot of connecting trails that are well paved as well as some hidden trails (especially when the leaves fall) that are really fun and challenging. We got to see various beautiful creatures, including the bald eagle, which was phenomenal! Additional note: After reviewing other reviews, I'd like to say that we did not encounter any homeless persons during our time there, although there was evidence of it having occurred in the past. I agree that it wasn't clear that the 'cave' was simply a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other. Regardless, we were able to observe them and go on some hidden trails. I'll stand by my 5 stars as I did not find it a waste of my time and quite enjoyed the experience."
