Barbecuing Guidelines
We welcome you to enjoy a barbecue at Van Cortlandt Stadium, but please be mindful of safety and courtesy. Keep a safe distance from other patrons, children, and trees. All coal and matches should be disposed of in designated hot coal barrels. Use water to extinguish hot coals, and refrain from placing flammable materials in regular litter barrels. For gatherings over 20 people, a permit is required, which can be applied for 30 days in advance through our Special Event permit system.

While visiting Van Cortlandt Park, please ensure your dogs are leashed at all times unless in a designated dog run area.

- Cass Gallagher Trail: A moderate to difficult 1.2-mile trail through the Northwest Woods.
- John Keiran Nature Trail: An easy 0.6-mile trail beginning at Van Cortlandt Lake.
- John Muir Nature Trail: A moderate 1.5-mile east-west path through the park's center.
- Old Croton Aqueduct Trail: An easy to moderate 2.3-mile trail showcasing historical engineering marvels.
- Putnam Greenway: A 1.9-mile easy trail that follows the old rail bed of the New York Central Railroad’s Putnam Division.
Discover History at Van Cortlandt House Museum
Located in the southwestern part of the park, the Van Cortlandt House Museum is a testament to the area's rich history. This 18th-century Georgian-style manor house is both a New York City and National Historical Landmark. The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"The field are fine but. Sooner the carpet grass need to be replace order them that the are ok, you can find a Baseball field as well, two of them to be exact just go there and have some funds and oscuros everything is free."
