"I filed an electrical permit and actually found this one of the easiest building departments to deal with. It's always really fast to reach someone, and the people at the desk are quite kind and patient. They let you track the status of your permit application online as well. Mine was issued in a week, which seems like a reasonable amount of time to me."
"Absolutely the WORST township I've ever dealt with. I handle construction permits for a living, I sent them the permit, heard no update for MONTHS, called in to find out the status for a homeowner that was patiently waiting, the woman told me they threw it in their "rejections drawer" for a lack of a zoning application, but never bothered to inform me they were even missing something. So I sent them the zoning and the payment for it, called in another two weeks later and the woman told me that they had no permit at all for that address. I explained to her someone had already let me know that they had received the permit, because how else would I have known about the zoning fees? This girl, who sounded like a toddler, was SO dismissive and basically called me a liar. LUCKILY I record all my phone calls, so I pulled the call where another employee had told me they received our permit, and played it back for her. She then basically told me "tough, we lost it, send another one", no apology, no "sorry for the confusion", literally just the rudest most ignorant person. I had to HAND DELIVER the permit to them, walk it from the zoning department to the building department just to ensure they didn't lose it again. I can't avoid using this township because of what I do for a living, but if I could I would never deal with them again. ZERO STARS"

I found the business culture of the department's office staff and inspectors to have greatly improved. Dealing with them is like night and day over years gone by when I dreaded interaction with the unprofessional staff. Keep up the great work!"
