"Terrible and unfriendly NJ train staff controlling the passengers scanning their ticket out of the NJ train to get on the air train. All they do is yell at people. The scanning system turns the automatic Apple Pay on, I didn't want to pay twice for the ticket, and instead of explaining how to do it properly, this big guard started yelling to other passengers, while giving me an evil look "just keep going past her" and waving her hand. I had to try many times, until a passenger saw the situation and helped. Unnecessarily rude and bonkers!"
"I thought this was a good station. The attendants were helpful and the signs were clear where to go. It wasn't too crowded when I traveled. My one criticism was that there wasn't enough space to store my luggage. I was taking the train from the airport, so had a suitcase. There wasn't enough overhead space. It wasn't too big of a problem but I could see it being more annoying if it was crowded."
"Connection between Airtrain and NJ Transit / Amtrak. NOTE: If you want to board the airtrain from NJ Transit / Amtrak, you must scan your train ticket in a turnstile to enter. During peak hours, this line can grow pretty long. So be patient and have your ticket available."
"The most passengers/pedestrian unfriendly train station I have ever been to! Not accessible by car/Uber/Lyft/ or walk! In every other county the train station is connected to its neighborhood and parking lot - not at Newark Airport! I wanted to be dropped off by Uber at the parking lot and connect to rail but that was not possible as there is no road nor pedestrian access to the station, you can only connect via AirTrain to/from airport! I could literally see the train station from the parking lot, merely 100 meters away, but could not access it as it is fenced! However this station is very well connected to NYC-Manhattan/Trenton via Northeast Corridor train system that runs frequently, therefore provides easy transfer to Newark Airport via AirTrain (the ticket cost 8.25$ and takes few minutes to access the airport). The waiting areas are located at the platform not in the actual station. Toilets and ATM available but food/restaurant options are very limited."
"Commuter and intercity train station. Waiting rooms have 24 seats, 2 toilets each and are air conditioned. There are also outdoor waiting area shielded from the wind. No, you cannot walk to the nearby Best Western and Hampton Inn hotels, regardless of what Google suggests, because of a fence surrounding the nearest parking lot."
