"LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT MOVING COMPANY! I hired Carlos Pato movers and I learned my lesson the hard way. Carlos Pato Movers a very expensive company. He’ll give you an estimate before your move date, however during the move he’ll tell you that his movers can do things like put furniture (ex a bed frame) back together for you. He’ll say it as though this has been factored into the estimate, but it is not!!! Instead Carlos Pato Movers will bill you at a very high hourly rate to do this extra work. So be on the look out for this intentionally devious act. In addition, Carlos Pato Movers broke/destroyed one of my mid-century modern wooden arm chairs during my move. Instead of being honest and telling me, he took the chair home with him and attempted to sand in down, glue it back together and varnish the chair. The day after my move, Carlos Pato himself returned unexpectedly to my house with my chair. However instead of being apologetic, instead he gloated about how he had “fixed” the chair that got broken in the move. I unfortunately was not home at the time he stopped by unexpectedly, but my parents were there and they accepted the chair, not knowing that he had completely ruined the value of the chair. It looked as though a toddler had been blindfolded, was spun around in circles for 5 minutes and was then told to fix a chair in 30 seconds. Yes - it really was THAT BAD!!!. Oh and it doesn’t stop there! He must hire day laborers because HIS EMPLOYEES NEVER know how to speak English. What HIS EMPLOYEES DO know is how to call my American friend a “Maricone” to his face. This Spanish-speaking employer at Carlos Pato Movers just assumed that all Americans are dumb and do not understand Spanish. But guess what? Americans are not dumb…AND we do understand a lot of Spanish words! Upon informing Carlos Pato directly regarding this, he had nothing to say, he showed little if any concern and he took absolutely no action whatsoever! Another thing that HIS EMPLOYEES DO know how to do is to STEAL ITEMS FROM YOUR HOME!!! Upon informing Carlos Pato directly regarding this, he denied it could be possible. It was only after repeatedly insisting on the stolen item that he even bothered to ask his employees. It was only after my persistence, that all of the sudden…POOF!…miraculously the item materialized out of thin air and now in the possession of one of his employees. In his barely comprehendible, completely broken English, his employee mumbled that he didn’t know it was mine as he handed my item back to me. Seriously?!?!! Something was inside my home, and you took it because you didn’t think it was mine?!?! And even though Carlos Pato himself was standing right there when this transpired, he had nothing to say, he showed little if any concern and again he took absolutely no action whatsoever! Within a minute of Carlos Pato Movers leaving my home having completed the move, I noticed that all the zippers on my backpack were wide open. My backpack was sitting next to the item that his employee stole. So clearly one of Carlos Pato Movers employees had also riffled through by backpack looking for other things to steal. Unfortunately I had left cash in my backpack which, as you’ve already guessed, was also now missing. After already discussing issues directly with Carlos Pato and realizing his total lack of concern or empathy or action, it wasn’t worth my time to call Carlos Pato to discuss this additional theft. I was just glad that they were gone!!! So unless you have a passion for Movers who will: -charge you FAR MORE than their given estimate -break your furniture, but lie/hide the fact that they’ve broken your furniture -verbally and aggressively harass anyone they chose -steal items from your home ….then I would highly suggest that you look for a different moving company!"
"Carlos Pato seemed sympathetic and understanding. Said he would call back with an estimate after having forgotten about our appointment and being reminded after I confirmed to call. He said he'd call the next day but never called. I would call and he'd say he was busy and would call back and after 2 days he would ignore my call. He knew the estimate is what I needed to decide on how I was moving and he never followed through."
"Very professional."
