Dumbo Moving + Storage

"If you’re reading this considering whether or not you should book with Dumbo, please close this window and book with another moving company. Dumbo was an absolute nightmare to work with. The day before I moved, I got a confirmation email with the wrong time. When I finally spoke to somebody on the phone, he said they “thought they might do my move earlier.” You can’t just change somebody’s reservation without asking. Half an hour after I got off the phone with that person, I got another call asking (telling?) me to move my time. At this point, I’m really infuriated and have lost all trust that they will arrive at the time I needed. Why did they seem to have no record of my previous call? The next morning (day of my move) I receive a third call, again asking me to change the time of my move. The thing is, I wish they would have just told me why they wanted to move my time. The reason later became apparent to me when the movers arrived an hour late. After dumbo harassed me with multiple phone calls, they couldn’t even bother to leave a courtesy call to let me know they were running late. On top of that, they only sent a crew of 2 movers. While the guys did a great job, it took them forever, and I wasn’t moved in to my new place until almost midnight. The customer service from Dumbo is absolutely abysmal. I do not recommend them and I cannot believe they are still in business."

"Similar to what someone else mentioned on here, they left a few things out of my list and said they had absolutely no room left in their huge truck. Mind you I had no furniture apart from a mattress, desk, and ottoman. But they refused to take another ottoman, coffee table, and a few more boxes. I essentially had to convince them into taking my rug which was on the list. I chose them because they were the cheapest option but you’re getting what you’re paying for. They show up too early and left 2 hours early even though I needed more help. They made my move more difficult, I’m still moving stuff hours later."

"Had an incredible experience with an extremely difficult move. Truck 175 helped us for about 8 hours. They were kind, fast, and communicated very well. Extremely impressed. Truck 96 helped us on the second part of our move. They were great at well. I would hire them again in an instant. Truck 85 also helped us about a month ago. They too were great. Overall I don't have enough nice things I can say. Highly recommend. Best moving experience I've had."

"A Horrendous Experience with Dumbo Moving Company - Avoid at All Costs! Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (0 Stars if possible) I recently had the misfortune of hiring Dumbo Moving Company, and it was the worst moving experience imaginable. The movers extorted tips, threatening and making us feel extremely uncomfortable. They demanded extra money without any valid reason or explanation, essentially bullying us into compliance. To make matters worse, they embezzled funds by claiming our truck was over the weight limit, charging an extra $1000 without providing any proper documentation or proof. This is pure racketeering—refusing to unload our property until we paid the random overcharge. This company should not be in business at all. They are a bunch of crooks and thieves, preying on unsuspecting customers. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Dumbo Moving Company at all costs. Absolutely disgraceful service!"

"I have had 4 interstate moves in my lifetime and none of them went off without an issue occurring until my daughter hired Dumbo for her move back to Florida from NYC. Not only was the salesman personable and available throughout the moving process he had the opportunity to charge me an additional fee for a legitimate contractual issue that arose at the time of the initial loading of the truck but chose to ask me to take care of his crew instead of adding an additional fee. His crew was friendly and courteous so it was my pleasure to give them a good tip. I would absolutely use Dumbo again."
