"Not the most aesthetically pleasing station to see with your eyes. However, it is still a subway station that runs trains at a pretty good frequency. You'll never wait longer than 20 minutes."
"Another wonderful subway station! Enjoy the lovely sitting area on some cool round benches (which I think are supposed to be considered modern) directly across from the MTA clerk booth. The MTA clerks are usually very helpful. Generally clean and well maintained but old and could use a remodel. And check out the lightbulbs! The MTA has done a spectacular job in redoing all the lightbulbs over the past couple of years, many of the light bulbs have been replaced by the mta @mtahow many light bulbs are there throughout the MTA vicinity? TIP The MTA is handing out masks free of charge TIP:Watch if you are trying to jump the turnstiles as police seem to be stopping folks. Just ask and most likely they will let you through."
"The 72nd street stop on the Second Avenue line or the 63rd street stop are good alternatives to this one because there are more entrances and the stations have better accessibility. Yet there are sometimes that I end up here. When I'm going to Hunter College and I'm on the 4 or 5, though, the easy transfer to the 6 train is sometimes hard to resist. There is a waiting area with seats just as you pass through the turnstiles. There is an underground entrance to Hunter for the students but I've never tried to use it. I climb up the narrow stairway from the subway mezzanine to the street level."
"Its next to Hunter College and skme pf the best hospitals on Earth going towards 1st Avenue."
"I've used this subway station for commuting to work for around a year (finally switching to the second ave. subway when it was completed), and I am very happy to be rid of it. Although its location can be convenient, the narrow exits and high passenger load on the 6 mean that exiting the subway station can be a pretty harrowing experience. If you can, use the new Q stations."
