"This subway station, like many in upper Manhattan, Harlem Uptown, are in need of major renovations & upgrading. It's dark, gloomy, creepy & smelly. Why aren't they making advancements in public places in Uptown Manhattan. We pay taxes, too.. Our money is green too. What has the local politicians been doing for the past 50 yrs?"
"Horribly managed station - A train and D are on diff platforms on 3 flights of steps away and no time to transfer - is waiting 1 minute or 2 gonna kill you conductors ? No wonder the MTA can’t sustain, too big and too many lazy overcompensated workers who provide a terrible service - this is why I never pay for the train there’s almost always a bad experience"
"It's great until a change in train service. For last few weeks the downtown D train is on uptown track. Today, Sat 1/20, no signs but D train on uptown side. With really bad knees walking extra stairs sucks!!!! Why no sgns or tape?"
"The 145th station in Harlem is a pretty good station. The station itself is pretty clean and there is a police station in the subway station. Which makes you feel safer. Trains on the A, C and B & D lines run here and trains are pretty frequently and transfers are easy."
"I use this station to go to city college or to the Hamilton Grange branch of the NYPL. Sometimes I will pass through it to connect from the D to the B train. It is so much easier to connect for the A or C train at 125th, because there the transfer is across the platform--whereas here you have to change levels. Escalators will take you from the lowest level platform (the D or B) to the mezzanine level. One escalator is at the north end (147th st) of the platform and the other at the south end (145th street). One reason I like using this station to go to CCNY is that there is a Dunkin Donuts right when you leave the station at 145th street. It is convenient to get a coffee here and sip it as I walk to CCNY. There is a historic component in walking to CCNY as you pass a statue of Alexander Hamilton as you walk on convent south."
