"Trains run every 15 to 20 minutes or so. It's pretty clean but there's only a station booth clerk on the downtown side."
"There's homeless but generally real quiet or singing or just straight up saying what they need"
"157th Street is situated on the Upper West Side of Mannhatan, the station is only served by the 1 train at all times, 157th Street is a very decent station, the residents of the neighbourhood are lively, and there is a great selection of restaurants to choose from."
"I recommend the following things regarding this station: Don't touch anything, this is a dirty place (even for a train station.) Buy your metrocard elsewhere. The person in the booth i suspect is there just for show. They certainly do not like to be bothered. If you need a snack don't buy from the vendor in there. I have purchased melted chocolate bars there and seen him argue with someone over a headset purchased there that was clearly falling apart just coming out of the package. If the time till the next train says more than 10 minutes (and it's daytime) take a bus right outside. You can take one to 96st and swap to the 1 2 3 9 options. **Usually the train does come quickly during the day.** Lastly don't think you can get away with not paying your fare, frequent undercover DT's here."
"Great train line in the weekdays. Can kinda suck over the weekends at times because of construction then they may run a shuttle bus service for several stops."
