About the Business
Welcome to Wild Roots Farm
Nestled in the serene beauty of the Catskill Park, Wild Roots Farm is a haven of natural wonder and sustainable living. Located at 669 Cattail Road, Livingston Manor, New York, our small, family-run farm embodies a wild spirit and a commitment to nurturing the land. Stewarded by the Gillingham Family—Amy, Wes, Iris, and Roan—our 100-acre farm is a harmonious blend of woods and cultivated spaces, perched at the top of our watershed.
At Wild Roots Farm, we believe in fostering a reciprocal relationship with the natural world. Our dedication to sustainable practices is evident in everything we do, from our hand-hewn dovetail log home powered by solar energy to our diverse array of gardens, orchards, berry patches, and livestock, including sheep, cows, ducks, and chickens.
We offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rhythms of the farm through our various programs and events. Join us for farm tours, seasonal harvest celebrations, nature walks, and foraging adventures. Experience the joy of cooking with fire, explore alternative energy solutions, and engage in fiber arts. Listen to the music of the birds and discover a place to truly breathe.
In 2024, we are excited to collaborate with our neighbor, Gael Roots Community Farm, a non-profit educational farm, to offer enriching immersion programs. While many of these collaborative programs will be available through the Gael Roots website, Wild Roots Farm remains a steadfast supporter of this inspiring initiative.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or an educational experience, Wild Roots Farm invites you to connect with nature and embrace a life of balance between the wild and the cultivated. Come visit us and discover the magic of a wild place with a wild attitude!
