"Great service and a simple fix. Purchased a new Schwalbe tire that was defective (not the shops fault) that was causing my ride to be uncomfortable. Went into the store to get it checked out. Lucy and the mechanic (sadly forgot to ask his name) helped me out kindly and quickly. The mechanic determined it wasn't a bike issue but a tire issue. Swapped out my tire for a new one and I was on my way riding smooth."
"This is the friendliest, most helpful, patient, and generous bike shop I've ever been to. If you want a Brompton, go directly here. DO NOT order online, the sizing is unusual and can't be adjusted later without voiding the warranty. As for the bike itself, if you want the most portable bike possible, look no further. It does make a lot of substantial sacrifices to achieve that, though, so make sure you test drive a few brands before you make your decision!"
"Brompton Junction employees hate their customers and their jobs. I recently purchased a Brompton TI line Urban ($5,500+tax). A local Brompton dealer in Miami serviced the bike and shortened the seatpost because it was so long that the bike couldn't fold properly. I came to NYC for a big biking event and thought I'd stop by Brompton Junction to fix an annoying seatpost issue I've been having since I got the bike (the seatpost sliding down). Just as I described the issue to the mechanic (named Ka-Sean) without even looking into it, asked for $14 for a "seatpost sleeve adjustment" service. He was adamant the seatpost failing at its only job on a new bike is not a warranty issue. As he took the bike for the service, he asked me to leave the store (lovely). Five minutes later, he called me stating that because my seatpost was cut, the warranty is void on my $5,500 1-month-old bike, and he will not service it even for money. How the seatpost length is connected to the tightness of the collar, how the shortening of the seatpost by an authorized Brompton dealer voids the warranty, or why he won't fix the issue even when I am willing to pay was not explained to me. These guys hate their customers and everything we stand for. To add insult to injury, the management offered to sell me a replacement seatpost, seat collar, and installation service."
"The staffs were super helpful and patient. They answered all my questions and let me take my time and practice how to fold/unfold the bike in the store. In the end, I bought the A line bike with a few add-ons (rear rack and left folding pedal). I was happy about my purchase and overall it's a great experience."
"One of the coolest bicycle stores on the planet! So this isn’t your average bike store. Brompton bicycles are city, lifestyle, travel, whatever you want it to be bicycles. Now, I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “ why spend so much on a bike?”. I’m glad you asked. Before I talk about the bikes, I’ll dive quick into the store. The store instantly has a really cool welcoming vibe to it. Think local coffee shop. Every worker I met was just a down to earth normal Joe who just so happens to ride a bicycle. The staff are all incredibly nice, and they’re knowledge of cycling is impressive. Brompton did an excellent job finding people to work at its NYC location. It’s not geared towards racing or the less than 6% body fat leads the peloton guy (although they like Bromptons too), it’s more focused on the city dweller. People who use the bike as part of their life, or the traveler who likes taking a bike a long, or even the leisure cyclist who loves having an incredibly beautiful bike that is also the best in quality and durability. All the guys I talked to road their Bromptons a lot, and can definitely give some tips on riding your bike to work or riding in the city. The store has tons of Bromptons and Brompton accessories. I was excited to be able to pickup my Brompton in person rather than wait for it to arrive by mail or get stolen by NYC’s finest. So why pay $1500 for a bicycle? Well, if you ride your bicycle all the time, it’s really not that much of an expense. How much money do you spend per year on gasoline, parking, and car insurance? Or the cost of taking the subway and bus around? This bike will last the rest of my life, and save me money every mile of it. The bike itself is simply the best. The frame has no flex. I have a cheap Schwinn folding bike that I absolutely love too, but it’s incredibly flexible. It’s really hard to sprint on. However, on a Brompton, I can really get on it. You can’t tell the difference between this bicycle and a solid frame single speed. The powder coat a paint and quality get the bike tons of compliments. Everyone says you can tell that’s a really nice bike. Everything on this bike is the best in terms of quality and durability. It’s built to be ridden and last. People travel the world on these. Buy cheap, buy twice. This bike won’t have breakdowns on you. It’s bulletproof. My commuter bike of four years was originally a cheap $300 Retrospec bicycle. After a thousand miles, parts started failing and needing replacement. The single piece crank snapped after a couple thousand miles. Replacing everything on it as it went bad was sometimes a headache, and put my bike out of commission until I could get around to figuring out how to fix it. A Brompton just keeps going. These bikes kind of have a cult following, and rightfully so. The design is super neat, and it’s super nimble and responsive on the streets of Brooklyn. These bikes are perfect for city living. You can get a rack and bags, and do most of your shopping with it. Or pack on gear for work. Or load it up for a picnic on Governor’s island. When you’re done, fold it up into a tiny square and leave it in the corner of the apartment. It’s got a really cool folding style so that you can use it as a shopping cart. Buy this bike and you’ve got a ride that can get you to work, take you to the coffee shop, or get some weekend cardio or exploration in. Go ten miles. Go sixty miles. You can pickup a toolkit and pump that are specially designed for the bike and never be SOL with a flat (which I haven’t gotten yet. Schwalbe tires can survive the apocalypse). 5 years ago I would’ve said $1500 is way too much to spend on a bike. Now, as someone who uses it everyday and counts on it to get to work, $1500 once for something that will last longer than I do, it’s really not too bad. Finally, this company does things the right way. If you can’t tell by now, I’m an avid cyclist and bicycle commuter. This company wants more ppl on bicycles and to do things the right way. Both the founder and new CEO both love cycling and getting people on bikes."
