"I came with my free one-day pass and I showed my ID and they told me that my Florida ID is not valid … just to make me pay, so they are not giving you anything for free, the pass as they say, and also the email does not tell you only the NY ID. Only this gym I been another gyms for another states that never happen"
"Joined a month ago or so encountered Markus Wilson and signed up with him. The man is a very good representative of how sales should be done. He's respectful, patient, and knowledgeable. This location is my favorite due to the bags they have up on the 3rd floor. I go daily and the facilities look fine to me there is always someone at the front and you will always see one or two of the cleaners doing their thing. The only thing I would like is for the gym to be opened later on Saturdays and opened on Sundays Small gripe though. This place is great ."
"Came in thinking I will sign up, I asked about the trial and was asked if I knew about pricing and if the promo I saw was franchise or not. Immediately felt like I was being arranged in a can you afford this or not file. The gentleman bald head skinny short was hyping up the place amazing list goes on. I’m no newcomer to gyms. I’ve had memberships from lifetime fitness to private gyms. I know what to expect and levels to expect especially if I’m told it’s better then a LA Fitness but less then an equinox. That set the tone for me when I went upstairs. Locker rooms are about what you expect in a regular gym nothing out of ordinary. Bathrooms were dated and broken soap dispensers. Has a sauna, that’s cool. Went upstairs to workout all the right equipment you could ask for. Place was pretty well maintained had all sorts of racks you could ever use. Dumbbells go up to 140 lbs. biggest seller for me was a the punching bags. That alone sold me to sign up and location being a block from my job. I currently use planet fitness and LA fitness. PF in NY and LA fitness down the street from me in NJ. That being said, my LA fitness has a daycare two pools and saunas and all the regular equipment a decent gym should have. That being said though I was still in the kind to sign up. I went down and was asked how was it, I gave my honest opinion and the skinny short bald gentleman took that to an offense. Shut down on me and started to tell me to have a good day. I was slightly upset because mentally I signed on. But after that interaction I decided to just go. I’ll take my business to the lifetime fitness at Penn station."
"Two stars because it’s clean and front desk people are nice. Equipments break and they don’t fix it for months. Some People stay on their phones in the equipment for more than 34min, I counted because I was on a tight schedule, I had to deal with rude smelly people with their street clothes and shoes in the sauna multiple times, I complained to the manager Jovani more than once, and he did absolutely nothing but making me feel even more uncomfortable. That’s when I realized I had to cancel my membership and never go back to that place. Worst experience ever with a gym."
"Do NOT commit to an annual membership. They treat you like an hostage. Every question to the current manager, Evan Bernier, takes me a few emails and one or two weeks to get a response. It's frustrating. I was told by the current manager that I'll be charged for a freeze on a per month basis (already at a higher rate than what the previous manager had told me when I joined when I specifically had this concern about needing a freeze for a few months) but they ended up charging for all 3 months. And that miscommunication from the manager caused a late fee for me because the charge went over the daily limit I'd set on the card. Also, late fee for a one time charge I was not even told will be charged instead of just sending me a link to pay? This sort of practice needs to be reported to the consumer bureau, but whatever. Now I was also told by the manager that the freeze can be lifted any month as I wasn't sure when I'd return. I'm trying to reach them to reactivate the membership for a week to reactivate a month early but I've not gotten any response after three emails and a week. The only good thing about this gym are the group classes and some of the instructors."
