"This camp is like no other camp. I’m serious. There is no place like Raninu. It’s just the best. From the sports to the lake to the food to the pool to the water park to the trips to the staff to the ranichinos to the specials to mud up to the dancing to the owner of the camp. Raninu is the BESTA CAMP!!!!!"
"Best Orthodox Jewish Girls Camp in the World! The staff are so kind and caring, the grounds are beautiful, and the activities are awesome! They put "Ra Ra in U"! (Picture is some unfinished Ceramics that we made there.)"
"We love CB aka shviggs food. And of course the best owners and staff. The kids thrive and smiles are in abundance all over the place its contagious ☺️"
"Part of a group that rented this camp for a weekend. Was assured we would have kitchen access, parking on grass was ok, and much more to get us to sign the contact. Then kitchen access denied literally last minute, and entire security deposit was kept due to some ruts in the grass due to cars parking there. Awful owners, cannot recommend."
"I spent a winter, spring and summer working and living there as the sole caretaker. It was a joy during the winter, I had a tractor to plow the roads, it's very secluded so no one ever bothered me. The reason for the single star started in the spring after the snow melted. I was solely responsible for mowing the entire camp, which is massive. Since I lived at the camp, I would work from 7am to dusk, usually around 7pm the earliest, 6 days a week in the spring and then 7 days a week in the early summer before I left. No matter how long or had I worked, it wasn't good enough for the owner/operator of the camp. I was repeatedly told that my hard work wasn't good enough and that I would be replaced and thrown out of the trailer that I was given as payment for maintaining the camp grounds... I wasn't payed any money, all I received was a trailer and electricity, all other utilities I had to pay for out of my own pocket, like a working phone inside the trailer, there was a phone line provided by the owner but it was just a wire stapled to the outside of a shed a quarter mile from my actual trailer, I had to bring my own phone to hook up to the line myself. While I do miss living there in the winter, it really was a beautiful piece of property, I DO NOT miss the headache and constant berating that I received on an almost daily basis from early/mid spring to early summer when I finally parted ways and moved out of the camp. I had no part in the actual running of the camp as it was a Jewish all girls camp and I was forbidden from being anywhere near any of the campers or the camp staff, aside from the owner. I wish they would have been a lot more forthcoming with their expectations before I started the job as I wouldn't have taken it had I known that I would be working 80+ hours a week and only be receiving a trailer to sleep in and almost daily threats of being thrown out of said trailer for not working more... I would never consider working for this company again as long as the same person is still in charge."
