"Well worth a visit! We had the most charming train ride with commentary by a wonderful gentleman who regaled us with stories while pointing out sights of interest along the train ride. It lasted 1.5 hours. The staff at the office was kind and the experience, delightful! Fall colors hadn't quite set in yet, nevertheless, it was beautiful to feast our eyes on nature. The town is quaint with a Main Street."
"We had a perfect fall day so we could open windows and get great pictures! So many colors. Nice ride. Sweet conductor."
"We had such a wonderful experience!!! Our conductor, Jeff, was so talented and knowledgeable! The entire experience was beautiful. The scenery was incredible! We went right as the leaves were at their peak! The little town of Honesdale was so cute to walk through with all the shoppes and food! Will definitely be back!"
"We took this train ride while we’re on a camping trip in Honesdale PA. It was a 1.5 hour trip up and down the Lackawaxen River way up north in Pocono PA area. You buy assigned seat tickets at there station located on Main St. The train cars were pulled by a diesel powered locomotive and had all of the clickity clanking sounds that you would have heard back in the day. The train conductor was knowledgeable of history in the area. The view of the river was quite nice. Though I imagine it would be better in the fall when the leaves are turning. They also have specialty rides with onboard dining and even destination events like wine and beer tasting with live entertainment. In October on the weekends they have rides to a pumpkin patch with games for the kids (and adults). The staff was pleasant and accommodating. A very nice way to spend part of your day when visiting Honesdale. Plenty of restaurants to eat at afterwards. Though most are closed on Sundays."
"A slow train ride along a scenic and historic route...with a very knowledgeable and well spoken conductor. A fun trip to Hawley...enjoyed short walk to a small town farmers market. Lots of great produce and wares, plus some really tasty ice cream. The company has a variety of trips that one should consider. A memorable experience."
