"Ketchlin is rude and does not listen to anything you tell her. I injured my knee after jumping down a few steps, blew up huge and hurt for months, and asked to have it checked. I was told "at your age and weight" (age 36 and 200lbs) "it's probably just arthritis". I repeated how i hurt myself and asked for an xray. She said "why would i waste time doing that now, we won't give you a knee replacement until you're at least 60". I never got any treatment. Another visit i asked to have a spot i suspected is a hernia checked and was again told you are just fat and probably uncomfortable because of it, do some sit-ups. Got a 2nd opinion eksewhere, yes i do have an imbilical hernia. At another time i asked about a chronic cough, she said "it's probably just allergies" so i asked what should i do. She said "they make over the counter allergy meds you know, try those". I asked what is best and she said "i don't know, they all do the same thing, just pick one" and was then once again rudely told losing weight will solve all my problems. I asked are there prescription diet pills that could help. She said no such thing exists (though i know other people who have prescriptions for them from other doctors) and offered me gastric bypass surgery. I may be chubby, but i always leave her office feeling very offended."
"I do not recommend this practitioner, nor Susquehanna Family Practice to anyone searching for a doctor’s office that cares. I thought Dr. Kelchlin was nice until she made a mistake that cost me $600. I was having some lower abdominal pain that was likely associated with ongoing cysts on the ovaries. This is something I’ve dealt with before and the pain felt similar. Dr. Kelchlin agreed I should get an endovaginal ultrasound, but apparently her notes were unclear when she referred me for the procedure. The tech at the lab performed an ultrasound of my kidneys instead, assuring me at the time this is what she was told to do based on the doctor’s notes. Dr. Kelchlin called the night after my lab and apologized profusely for the error, promising to reschedule me for the right procedure. Weeks later, Susquehanna Family billed me for both ultrasounds, coming in at $600 each, even with insurance through UnitedHealthcare. I did everything I could to fight the charge for the kidney ultrasound. I’ve wasted almost a year worrying about the charge and speaking to different staff at the practice, including Barbara Evans (Manager) who dodged my calls, and Dr. Benjamin Friedell (Medical Director). The Medical Director was unsympathetic to the situation, laughing as he said I must have “bad insurance.” Dr. Friedell assured me he would take care of the charge, but months later, the bill was sent to collections. Dr. Kelchlin was no help in solving the issue, in fact, she actively worked against me, telling her superiors that I needed the kidney ultrasound anyway. Funny how quickly she turned from apologetic to apathetic when her messy dictating caused the whole ordeal. After months of trying to correct this wrong, I’ve finally given in and paid the bill out of fear it will affect my credit score. I say all of this to implore you not to waste your time and money here should they make a similar mistake."
