"Dr. Thomas John is the type of doctor every doctor should be. He is not only personable but he is also very attentive to your health concerns. I never feel rushed when I have an appointment with him. He has been my family’s internist for as long as I can remember and now that I’ve been with him for 5 years I can see why. He is very thorough and his follow up is firm but caring. For example, I developed high cholesterol and opted to try dietary and lifestyle changes first. He was ok with it but made a follow up visit for 3 months to check my progress. When I said why not six months he said it was too long and if I was serious in trying diet and lifestyle then there should be a change seen in that three months. If no change was seen within that three months then it could be genetics and medication was needed. The next visit didn’t show much improvement so I consented to the use of a medication At the next three month visit there still wasn’t much improvement so a change in medication was made and another 3 month appointment was made. He was serious in wanting to see improvement. The next 3 month visit showed marked improvement. The same held true with the next 3 month visit. Next visit was made for 6 months. I teased him a little and he said let’s see if I can keep my numbers as good as they are now, stressing the importance that medication alone wasn’t going to keep those numbers good. So while we laughed, he was still able to convey the seriousness of the situation. Six months later the bad cholesterol continued to stay low and my good cholesterol remained high. I asked if I could now try going without the medication to see what would happen and he said he would see after our next six month visit. I like the fact he is willing to work with me in trying to keep me medication free and not just be arbitrary that both are working so end of discussion. I feel like if it doesn’t work out with no medication then I will know I truly “do” need the medication, it is easier for me to take and we came to this conclusion together."
"If you want to die or at the least become a full blown diabetic when you shouldn't even become a diabetic or have his right hand nurse the big fat one come out in the waiting room and not listen to your actual compliant just jump to conclusions and almost kill you keep seeing this sad excuse for a doctor almost killed me with his exceptionally poor care ended with me in a coma state and medical bills of over 3/4 of a million dollars in 2016. I only apologize for not warning more people sooner of his poor medical abilities because I like doctor John but his poor care, left me at UCLA after letting me loose over 40 lbs trying to control my diabetes with out the knowledge. It began a nightmare in 2009 that is actually something I still deal with everyday. So don't let that smile or his well meaning, seemingly concerned outlook leave you with irreversible disabilities. Remember I actually liked Doctor John, but his poor Medical care has taken an untold amount of time off my life, And dropped my quality of life by !. Sincerely Yours, John J Evans"
