Duane Reade

"A friend of many years passed away the beginning of this week. All I wanted to do was to get a suitable sympathy card to send to her brother and her 92 year-old mother, who had to put her 71-year-old daughter to rest. There were NO sympathy cards at all...just birthday cards! How is that possible?? That is an outrage! The card section is right next to the prescription area and half of those drugs/medications have the capacity to kill, so how is it that DR doesn't sell sympathy cards??!!?? Shut down the card area altogether or have a card section large enough for suitable cards for ALL occasions. So on July 4th, I had to walk all the way to the CVS in Forest Hills to get a sympathy card. Thanks for nothing!"

"This Duane Reade is awful! It takes them forever to get your prescription every step of the way. To refill your prescription it takes them at least 24 hrs, then the line inside of the store doesn’t move, or they take forever looking for your medicine because somehow they lost it somewhere. I think the AC either is not working or is very low because it is unbearably hot inside. Also would not suggest calling them ever, since you will be put on hold and then hung up on. If you need to solve anything you need to stand in the line. I will be moving my prescriptions to Express Scripts."

"I had a very frustrating experience with the pharmacy service recently. After waiting for 7 hours to receive a prescription, I called to check on the status and was put on hold for 23 minutes. When I went to pick up my child's medication, I was informed that they didn't have it in stock. The staff suggested that I find another pharmacy to fill the prescription, but they were unable to provide any assistance in transferring it. This whole situation left me feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated with the level of service provided. Piece of $hit women who works there needs to lose her job."

"The store as a whole is painfully inefficient. Huge queue at both front register and pharmacy, and lines are moving extremely slow. As far as I can see, they are fully staffed. It's just that each person is working at the pace of a snail resulting in customers piling up. I never ever had problems this extreme at Rite Aid across the street when it was open. I will transfer all my prescriptions elsewhere as soon as I'm done here today. Edit: I've been waiting in line for pharmacy for around 15 minutes now and the line has barely moved."
