"I am very happy with Dr. Schaefer. She listens to my issues and gives excellent advice. She will not baby you but do not confuse that for being mean. She is very caring."
"I do not recommend doctor Schaefer to anyone. My mother came in complaining about a brain fog and requested a brain scan considering that my father has fought brain cancer she wanted to be safe, she knew something was wrong with her. Doctor Schaefer refused the scan. What kind of doctor doesn’t listen to her patient like that?! Turns out two weeks later my mother goes to stony brook hospital and has a massive brain tumor. She had to go in for a 8 hour major surgery and has been diagnosed with glioblastoma. My family is beyond words. This doctor should listen to her patients more, read more books, or just shouldn’t be a doctor at all. Shame on her."
"I waited over a month for an appointment and had an appointment today at 2:00 for a recheck for high blood pressure. The road was closed due to construction and I was 5-7 minutes late. I walked in and was told by the receptionist to hold on, as she was completing computer work. Now it was about 2:10 and she looks up at me...stating, you’re late. I explained the road was closed. She said she needed to check with the doctor to see if I could be seen. Now an additional 5 minutes were wasted and she came back to tell me I couldn’t be seen by the doctors because of my lateness. Meanwhile, there was one patient in the waiting room. Last check up I waited over an hour to be seen, but I was rudely dismissed because of something out of my control. They could have at least checked my blood pressure. I felt very uncomfortable and do not want to be a patient at such an uncaring and cold practice."
"I highly disagree with the other commenters. dr schaefer doesn't have pleasant bed side manners. she's not friendly, easy to talk to, warm, etc. none of that at all. being in a room with her was the equivalent of hypothetically speaking being in an interrogation room with the cops, because she's more of a "let's get straight to the point" kind of dr than a dr that actually cares about her patients. aside from all of that, there were a couple of topics that was sensitive for me to talk about which I informed her right off the bat and she kept insisting on bringing up the topics anyway. additionally, she sent me to do some tests. when I looked at the aftercare chart online, she added some additional tests for me to get done (on the same day) that she never even discussed with me! you can't just do that to a patient. all the patient care should be discussed! front desk = they are very rude and cold, especially the blonde receptionist. no regard at all at communicating with patients about anything. I don't recommend this dr/office at all, unless you are looking for a dr with such negative demeanor."
