"The care that Dr. Porter and the rest of the staff put into their patients is unmatched. I recently experienced a medication emergency where the manufacturer discontinued production of the generic form. I was unable to get the medication anywhere local or even within a 2 hour radius. Both Fran and Dr. Porter went above and beyond to help me figure it out and rectify. If you're looking for a top-notch provider, look no further."
"I scheduled an appointment for March 2. A young lady brought me to the exam room asked how I'm doing. I said fine, I'm here for my annual physical. She took my blood pressure. She asked if everything is ok. I said that I do have a urinary issue that I want to ask the doctor about. I've had an urgency and frequency to pee. Dr. Porter came in. He checked my heart and my prostate. I told him about my issue. He prescribed an antibiotic. Then he had the assistant take my blood and gave me a cup for a urine test. There is no copay with my insurance for the annual physical. I received a bill for the copay amount. I phoned the insurance company and was told that the March 2 appointment was billed as a regular office visit and that I should ask the doctor's office to recode it. In May I had an appointment with the doctor for a clearance for surgery. I explained to the young lady at the desk what the insurance company rep told me. I suggested that if it's easier, she can code today's visit as the annual physical instead of amending the prior charge. She said that she would just adjust the prior bill. A few weeks later I received a bill for the two visits. I went to the doctors office and paid for the second visit and said that you were supposed to adjust the charge for the first visit. She said that she would speak to the doctor. Today I received a call from the doctor. He was a bit irate and he cut me off a few times and wouldn't allow me to explain the problem. He insisted that the March 2 visit was coded correctly as an office visit because I had the urinary issue. I wanted to ask him, does the patient have be in perfect health for a physical exam? If the patient states that he has a back ache or knee pain, it's no longer an annual physical and considered a regular office visit? And why did he do blood work, if it was just a visit for a urinary issue. I like Doctor Porter. I think he is a really good doctor and that this was just a misunderstanding. I'm giving him 4 stars, minus one for the billing issue."
"He has been my whole family ,over 20 people, our doctor. Never have a long wait, professional, takes his time, and actually cares about his patients. The saddest day for me, will be when he retires... the best experience I have ever had with a General Doctor."
"I have been going to Dr. Porter for well over 25 years. The reason...he's the best. Even when I had switched insurance and he was not part of my plan I still went when needed. He is very caring, thorough and patient. I see others are saying his staff is rude but I disagree. I have never had a problem with any of his staff in the 25 years I've been going."
"Dr. Porter is an extremely pleasant doctor to visit. He makes you feel comfortable, and explains things in a comprehensible manner. Also, he is typically on schedule and he takes as much time as you need to discuss your condition. He also has hours that are convenient for working people. I have been with him for about 10 years now and would recommend him highly."
