"Stopped in on a trip out east. First impression, nice shop, well stocked. Asked the employee behind the counter one question on stock and it went immediately downhill. Rude and couldn't give me the time of day. Poor customer service. Go to J and H in Oakdale, better prices, no attitudes."
"I've spent so much money over the summer in these bait & tackle stores to have not caught much of anything this summer. They are helpful and may have what you need. More expensive then other bait stores so if your going fishing out east you may want to get all you need from a less expensive bait or tackle even Walmart before spending at these stores. It all good cause this summer I plan to fish smarter & not harder. I'm going to teach myself something as I also learn from others."
"Awesome shop with very helpful owner/worker. Great prices and very knowledgeable. If you live out here or are like me coming out east this is the place to go. Great place and great bait, even the frozen is fresh, doesn’t mush or fall off hook"
"I’ve given this tackle shop a couple of chances to earn my business. And regretted those attempts. The last time I asked for 15 large eels. And explained that I would be casting them on the surf. So, needed them big enough to load up to get some distance. The first gentleman at the counter was reasonable and started accommodating said simple customer request. Someone with authority, who I believe to be the owner came to the counter and grabbed the bucket in a very harsh manner, and poured the eels back into the bait well. Clearly in an attempt to make a deliberate and bold statement. I feel strongly that if he respected and saw me as a valuable customer, then such an ugly, unprofessional display would not have occurred. Unfortunately for this establishment, I fish the Moriches, Shinneckock, and MTK surf harder than most. I spend A LOT of money. Whitewater and Paulie’s will continue to be my choices when in the area. I can’t help but have a strong feeling that it was because I am a minority and he felt that my business is less valuable... I see no other logical reason for such behavior. Behaving that way with the usual demographic would have put them out of business already. In owner’s response to this review, he speaks of integrity. While ignoring the absolute validity of the incident. No logical person will believe all of this is completely fabricated. He also misrepresents my review history. I welcome anyone to look at it. You will find mostly positive reviews. And the bad ones are deserving, accurate, and explain the situations in great detail. Furthermore, I didn’t explicitly accuse him of racism. I am concluding that there is no other explanation for such disrespect, given the circumstances. I’m sure all customers are not treated the way I was treated for no apparent reason. After some research, I want to point out that I am not 100% that it was the owner I encountered. But, his response indicates that he doesn't seem to care if this sort of thing is happening in his establishment."
"These guess know the local scene intimately and are not afraid to share their knowledge with people who ask. They have an amazing selection of the best tackle at really sharp prices and can get you anything you could ever need to make your fishing trip all it could be! I stop in at least once a week to findout what is going on and where people are catching first, what to use and to resupply myself with stuff I need. Top notch all the way and you don't have to deal with a poor attitude like their competitor up the road, whose name I won't mention. If you got to East End Bait&Tackle, you will definitely not be disappointed. I have been going there since Scott took it offer and have never left there feeling they did not appreciate my business."
