"The water park is lacking maintenance. We went on a weekend day and paid full price to have 1 of the 4 large water slides broken. Many water spouts/guns weren’t working on the big splash pad and parents were pointing out missing screws and there was an opening on a grate on the floor of the toddler splash pad when we arrived at noon. It claims to be the largest water park in Michigan, but I’ve been to Traverse and that appears larger and is better maintained as well as more attentive lifeguards than Avalanche Bay. For the price, stay a night in Traverse and get a better water park for 2 days compared to the same price as a day pass here."
"My mother and I took my 2 boys (13 and 7) to the waterpark on August 8, 2024. Wow! Clean. Fun. Safe. The lifeguards were plenty and very helpful with my boys. I didn’t feel nervous having them go play without me. Thank you so very much. We will be returning next year."
"It was a lot of fun. The water is clean, maintained, building didn’t smell all musty and gross. Reason for the 4 star, the “snack bar” is priced like a 5 star dining experience. Life guards everywhere, but they are really lenient with letting parents use them as babysitters, while the kids are completely out of control and parents doing nothing about it."
"Had some of the slides closed because "not enough people were in the park" not sure why how many people there matters. the hotel is nice but the halls smell like piss. They should fix that considering it's about $420 a night for a room. The good news is that the higher prices keep most of the degenerates out though, and lets be honest, we all know what we're paying extra for. Would come here over great wolf or especially over zenders."
"Just a day trip with the kids. Our first time there, and it was excellent! However, I just wish they had a family changeroom. I'm a single father with 2 young daughters. Instead, we had to wait for a family washroom to change in. It is what it is... we made it work."
