"Ali and Oaktree Developers exceeded my expectations every step of the way. I needed some very complicated masonry work done inside a narrow airshaft in my house. It was a nerve-racking process trying to find the right contractor for the job, but Ali put me at ease because he immediately came out the day I called and was very detailed in both what needed to be done and how his team would do it. He and his team worked hard and fast. The results are amazing. It's like night and day. Ali is a man of his word, which is rare in this industry. They were reasonably priced for the quality of work that was done. I am very satisfied and already recommending him to friends."

"AVOID. Ali Ahktar has done nothing but make promises he couldn't keep. After deciding to take our chances with Ali & Oaktree, Ali has done absolutely nothing for us but provide us with constant excuses and unfortunately delaying our move in. Thankfully, we never got past the paperwork with them. Here are the issues we had with Ali: 1. Unrealistic and continuously unmet timelines Ali continuously promised to deliver on providing us the paperwork our building mgmt needed to get this renovation approved. He first blamed our mgmt for being "strict" on the paperwork required given the ongoing pandemic. Further excuses ranged from not being able to meet our supervisor and then not being able to meet the substitute supervisor, his plumber being out of town, in transit etc. We understand that issues can come up (one of the delays was due to him getting into a car accident), but this ended up becoming a 4-5 week ordeal JUST for paperwork. 2. Issues with communication Getting in contact with Ali has been a nightmare as we've had to constantly follow up after his promises to deliver on the paperwork mentioned above. He'd constantly tell us he's on his way to the office, working on it now, call us back in an hour etc. What would then happen is he'd never get back to us & I'd have to follow up the next day. 3. Issues with Scope of Work/Plumbing We've mentioned to Ali that our building mgmt had strict requirements regarding work with plumbing. While we would have much preferred a realistic quote which would include the required work to be reviewed by the board (instead of him insisting to meet with our supervisor in person to bypass the board), he insisted that he worked with the building mgmt before so we assumed he'd have the expertise to make the call on that. Due to our discomfort with this, we asked him to include a clause in the agreement that stated we would be refunded the initial fee if the board did not approve of the scope of work. Surprise - they did not and Ali still has not returned our deposit. The whole process has been a nightmare but a learning process as Ali and Oaktree unfortunately add into the negative stigma when working with contractors. Additionally, before you decide to whether or not work with Oaktree, please do you due diligence and do some research on "Ali Ahktar", you'll be able to find another poorly rated company called "Akhtar Construction Concepts". All in all, I strongly advise everyone to stay far, far away."
