"Alleva Construction Inc delivers again!!! We had our kitchen done several years ago and are still very in love with it. A quality contractor is one that stands by their product and respects the craft . Alleva has the most professional and qualified crew in the industry. We have not called them back for anything as their work on our kitchen has lasted and held up through the years without any issues at all. They just finished our bathroom and we are blown away by the transformation. Michael has always been very easy to work with and knows his stuff. He has been there and easy to work with from initial consultation all the way to the final walk-through . We recommend this company to all our friends and family. Great work !! Thanks so much for making our dream come through and staying on budget. Gio and Paula"
"I have known and worked with the General Manager/Owner Mike of Alleva Construction for years and have completed numerous deals with him. I highly recommend his services. He has a reliable team, and he himself exemplifies dedication by always being available to his clients. Additionally, he consistently provides great suggestions that enhance the outcomes of our projects. Alleva Construction is a company you can trust for quality and professionalism."
"UPDATED 2/20/24 Alleva was responsive to our original review (below). Mike Alleva listened to suggestions that would have prevented our ordeal, which we are willing to attribute to a labor shortage common in many industries. However, with high turnover, check-ins with new project managers and their customers are essential and would have made a big difference for us. We believe in second chances. As Alleva was eventually responsive, and the shower bar was repaired, we are increasing our stars to 4 for this company. ORIGINAL POST: We did not have a “glowing" experience with Alleva. We contracted for bathroom, linen closet and walk-in closet to be finished in 6-8 weeks. Demolition started in April and was completed in September. Project Manager#1 was inexperienced or incompetent, particularly with organization. Crews showed up only two or three times a week, rarely for a full day. We were told to expect workers and they did not show up or showed up very late, as if our project was an afterthought. At one point we thought Alleva had abandoned our project. This went on for months, in addition to other issues that repeatedly occurred with PM#1. Then PM#2 was assigned at the beginning of August. Competent and experienced, Jay Strong, was helpful, understanding to our frustrations, and had men working every day on our site, until completion. He did his best to make things right. Jay checked in every day, stopped by often to check progress, and was a true professional and pleasure to work with. My husband had gotten used to watching over the work, and Jay made sure that his concerns were addressed. Unfortunately, Jay Strong is no longer employed with Alleva, which is a shame. Ironically, on the last visit a shower bar was installed with an ungalvanized screw, which is now rusting. Hopefully the rest of their work will hold up during the one year warranty. Despite the experience, we are satisfied with how the project turned out, but it was still a long and more stress-ridden experience than it had to be. Even trying to get a refund for unused tile and a special order shower drain that was not installed, was an ordeal. We sent emails to the general manager and made numerous phone calls to the office, and only received a refund check after filing a dispute with the credit card company. This issue took 2 months to resolve. Considering hiring this company? Be wary. Our contract appeared to be complete, however, PM#1 told us “Alleva is a contract driven company,” and most things would “cost extra.” For example, the electrician was not allowed to install light switches we were providing unless we paid extra to Alleva. The plumber determined that a pipe had to go through a ceiling, PM#1 said that a soffit could be built to cover it, but it would cost extra. He also said that it would cost extra for Alleva to repair any damage that occurred during the construction, including popped nails. This did turn out to be false, but it was an eye-opener. As Alleva did not provide an itemized contract for the work that they agreed to perform, we probably paid too much for the plumber, electrician and other companies hired by Alleva. Alleva’s contract also required payments to be made ahead of work being started and they were quick to collect these payments, while we were left waiting for the work to start. It was a very nerve-racking and frustrating experience. As the saying goes “Buyer Beware!” And this is our advice, too."
"Making dreams come true. I have worked with Alleva Construction on many projects in North Jersey. When it came time to build our dream lake home, Jake said he could help us and make the out of state project easier for us. He was by our side the entire time. From the design process to punch list items. I just say the only challenges we have had have been when we hired other companies to handle components Alleva could not perform because of the location of this project. We are thrilled with the outcome & Jake’s patience with us is commendable. Building can be really stressful at times and he came up with solutions to issues and helped us in a pinch too many times to count. I would recommend this company with confidence. Thanks Alleva Construction for helping us make a dream come true."
