At NYS OEM, we work closely with local governments, voluntary organizations, and private sectors, offering a wide range of services including hazard identification, loss prevention, planning, training, emergency response, technical support, and disaster recovery assistance. Our organization is structured into 10 specialized programs and sections, each dedicated to enhancing preparedness, response, and recovery activities across New York State.

Our 24/7 New York State Watch Center is vigilant in monitoring potential and actual emergencies, ensuring rapid response and support. The State Emergency Operations Center is ready to activate for any incident requiring State-level intervention. With over 60 vehicles on standby, our Logistics team is prepared for immediate deployment.

Field Operations provides crucial situational awareness, while our Incident Management Team is equipped to handle incidents of any scale or complexity. Our Headquarters Operations Section and Planning Section offer strategic support to local and State agencies in emergency response and disaster preparedness planning.

We also spearhead specialized programs such as the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program and the Transportation Security & Emergency Preparedness Program, enhancing safety protocols across various sectors.
