About the Business
Welcome to Old Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park
Nestled in the picturesque Hampton Bays, New York, the Old Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park offers a unique blend of history, recreation, and natural beauty. Located at 100 Foster Ave (north side) and 275 Dune Road (south side), this charming park provides visitors with unparalleled access to the stunning Shinnecock Bay.
Originally constructed in 1930, the Ponquogue Draw Bridge was a vital link to the Atlantic Ocean for the Hampton Bays community until 1986. With the construction of a new, modern bridge, the old bridge approaches were preserved for public use, thanks to the efforts of the Southampton Town Board. Despite facing the challenges of time and nature, the site was revitalized in 1997, ensuring its legacy as a cherished fishing and recreational destination.
Open 24 hours a day, year-round, the Old Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park invites you to explore its serene environment. Whether you're fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the view, this park promises a memorable experience. Please note that from May 15 to September 15, permits are required for use. Non-residents can obtain a full-season boat launch permit for $100, either through mail or at the Parks and Recreation Office. Ensure your permit is affixed to the driver-side rear window.
Visitors are reminded that this is a "use at your own risk" facility with no lifeguards on duty. It is crucial for children to be supervised, and for divers, boaters, and fishermen to adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
Come and discover the timeless allure of the Old Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park, where history and nature converge for an unforgettable experience.

"Maritime Park in Hampton Bays is a beautiful location to have a picnic, , fish or just take in the views if the Shinnecock Canal and Bridge. There are boat launching areas."
"Nice park, good spot to launch your boat or go fishing. There is a fishing pier with a floating dock. The fishing pier is the remnants of the old Ponquogue bridge which was subsequently removed when the new one was put up. There is a little gazebo to hangout in if you need to get out of the sun. There is a small beach too, itβs a bit rocky but people do hangout there."
