"UPDATE ( read previous paragraph for background) The owner Mae reached out to me personally and was so sincere and sympathetic. She was very open to listen about my experience, mentioned steps she can take to correct/prevent these issues from occurring again, and made the attempt to fix my hair. She immediately put me on her calendar for a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, she even gifted me with shampoo and conditioner. I adore Mae and am very satisfied with her service. She is very considerate and takes the time to explain different steps in the process. My hair looks/feels so much better than before. Mae is an excellent business owner who really cares for all of her customers. I have already scheduled two more appointments with her and am very excited. Highly recommended Mae and stylist Ary as well! I tried the salon for the first time because they offer services just for curly hair. I had an appointment with Morgan. I showed up 15 minutes early and Morgan did not start my appointment until 20 minutes into my schedule appointment time. I was scheduled for a curly cut and style. The consultation portion lasted less than a minute. I got a basic trim. However my hair was styled very poorly. My stylist rushed through my entire appointment. She did not finger coil, she did not style brush my hair (brushed straight down) hardly scrunched the curls (was not wet enough and did not make the squishy sound). She only put one product into my hair. The stylist put me under a dryer while she started her next client. Shortly after she came over to me and told me I was done, without checking my hair. My hair was still wet. She didn’t attempt to diffuse or fluff. Went straight from the dryer to the checkout. I left feeling so bad and like I’ve had a bad hair day. Forcing me to redo my hair at home. Also because of being rushed and not properly taken care of I felt like they did not care and only wanted the money. Not what I was expecting for someone who has been doing hair for 10yrs and half of clients have curly hair. Very disappointed."

She even let me make an end-of-appointment decision about my hair length which was very accommodating and of course made me happy. Mae, the owner, is super friendly and made me feel really comfortable. Still love the decor and music! It’s been really great finding this place as a black woman x CNY transplant can’t wait to go back for my extensions!!"
