Welcome to Canarsie Library, a vibrant cultural and civic hub located at 1580 Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn, New York. Established in 1909, our library has been a cornerstone of the community for over a century, evolving and expanding to meet the needs of our patrons. As part of the Brooklyn Public Library system since 1932, we have continually grown, moving to larger spaces to accommodate our diverse range of services and programs.

At Canarsie Library, we offer more than just books. You can borrow up to three tools at a time from our Greenpoint Library collection, as well as museum passes to over 80 cultural institutions, making cultural exploration accessible to everyone. For those interested in tracing their roots, we provide a comprehensive guide to genealogical resources.

Our library is a bustling center of activity, thanks to extended hours introduced in 2014 through increased support from the city. We host popular quarterly ESOL classes and offer Immigration Consultation and Legal Services sessions in partnership with the Immigrant Justice Corps, reflecting our commitment to serving our diverse community.
