About the Business
Welcome to Eberhard Nature Preserve
Nestled in the scenic landscape of Willseyville, New York, Eberhard Nature Preserve offers a serene escape into nature's beauty. Located at 2062 County Road 119, our park is a glacier-carved valley that features steeply-sloping hillsides, creating a classic Finger Lakes backdrop. The preserve is home to majestic oaks, maples, and hemlocks, set on the iconic Eastman Hill, a designated Tompkins County Unique Natural Area.
Explore the diverse terrain that transitions from historic farmlands to lush open meadows and dense forests. Our trails extend beyond the preserve, providing the opportunity to connect with the Finger Lakes Trail and the North Country National Scenic Trail. The preserve is part of a larger 500-acre block of conserved land, adjacent to Danby State Forest and just a half-mile from Shindagin Hollow State Forest.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the peaceful surroundings while respecting our public use policies. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash to protect the wildlife and ensure a pleasant experience for all guests.
Eberhard Nature Preserve was generously donated by Anatol and Carolyn Eberhard, who cherished and nurtured this land for over 45 years. Their vision and dedication have preserved this natural retreat for future generations to enjoy. The Finger Lakes Land Trust honors the indigenous heritage of the Haudenosaunee by committing to the conservation of these wild places.

Reviews
"It was quite a vertical? 600 feet in about 2/3 of a mile. Great cardio workout."
"My son and I hiked around this nature preserve on a warm summer day. The parking lot was good and had places to park. The trails were well maintained and well marked. The trails are steep and we enjoyed observing the mature hardwood forest. We saw a lot of interesting birds, plants and mushrooms."
"Beautiful hike through the woods. Very steep and daily strenuous."
