"Lovely building and well managed events, but the food was really terrible. Prime rib can get by with simple preparation, but it was bland and ill-cooked. Also, serving beef as a main course for an event involving an institution from India seemed like poor judgment."
"I had the privilege of spending a few nights here while visiting some family. Food was amazing, the suites weren’t huge, although very opulent and comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. I didn’t get the chance to check out the library but I’ve heard it’s pretty spectacular. The building has been meticulously maintained for over 100 years and it shows. An absolutely amazing experience. Highly recommended."
"Loved this place! I had to ask myself..."How can I graduate from Harvard so I can keep coming back?" It was a top tier experience with excellent service and amenities. I loved looking at the walls with all of the photos and artwork. The food was delicious and I had an overall pleasant experience. Everything was meticulous and the staff was friendly. Also, it appeared that there's spaces for people to work out or play sports based on what I overheard from others checking in. I am hoping I get invited to another event here so I can take it all in again!"
"Best place to stay in NYC, awesome extensive gym, huge common areas which really makes the stay feel like staying in a large home rather than hotel. Rooms are simple to be fair, but clean and functional. Location excellent…"
"This is an oasis. The rooms are larger than my first NY studio. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The hallway has coffee and tea service and I schlepped there regularly to get my fix. The lobby bar is busy during cocktail hours, and you meet regulars and new people. Socialize or not. The snacks are complimentary. The dining room had seasonal and regular favorites. I spent my time upstairs at the newly renovated terrace. It was for me more intimate. I used the gym daily. The club is right next to Grand Central, and restaurants and bars all around. I couldn't have been happier. The rooms are FMV so, no discount there, but what you get is a home away from home."
